Wednesday sat at her desk, the typewriter beneath her hands clicking loudly as she wrote.
"Ay de mi llorona, Llorona de azul celeste..."
She hummed the tune quietly, barely audible over the sounds of her friends conversating in the next room. They attempted to be quiet, the three knew how important it was to Wednesday that her novel have an hour of time devoted to it daily. So, whenever that old record player began, they knew to quiet down.
"Y aunque la vida me cueste, llorona, No dejaré de quererte, No dejaré de quererte"
She listened to the music, absorbing the singer's mournful tune. It calmed her to hear the pain in the vocalist's voice, her black heart soothed by the sound of suffering. Sadly, an hour is not as long as you'd think it'd be, and she quickly finished her day's work, setting her new papers with the old. She then turned off the record player and went into the living room. The three were watching TV, looking amongst each other nervously. When she left her room, Enid was the first to react, turning off the t.v. Bianca looked at her as well, then Eugene. This caused Wednesday to sigh, she hated when her friends kept secrets so obviously.
"What's on the television?" She asked in her usual monotone voice.
"Nothing important. How's the novel going?" Eugene quickly asked.
"It is going amazingly. Do not lie to me, Eugene." She said, quickly grabbing the remote and turning the t.v on.
"Local teenager Tyler Galpin expected to be released from his asylum and allowed back into Jericho following a psych evaluation. Galpin was-" The T.V cut off. Wednesday looked to her friends, eyes widened.
Bianca gave her a small smile. "Surprise?" She said nervously. Enid just stared at her, watching Wednesday look around the room, she was nervous.
"He won't show up here. He doesn't have the balls to show up!" Enid said. trying to cheer her up.
"You don't know Tyler." She responded, looking out the window to the streets, no sign of him anywhere. "I hope you didn't think I would not find out about this." She said, looking specifically to Enid. "Why would they let him out?" She asked.
"Well, in the psych evaluation he talked about the stuff Laurel did to him. He said he felt like he had no choice, and that if he didn't do it she'd hurt him again." Enid explained. "Do you buy it?" She asked. Wednesday shook her head.
"No..Not for a second."
