"i have to talk all of you into doing something."
"something i know we need to do."
"and i don't know how to talk about it."
"what do you want us to do?" a member of the group asked.
"i want you to survive."

"liar."
the screams were worse. worse than the blade slicing into that old man's neck. the screams.
guns were shooting in every direction. it was an all out war. a war y/n had been prepared for.
"c'mon y/n hurry!" sawyer shouted. his gun wasn't left out from firing.
"shut up" the mumbling came from the small girl beside him. both teenagers, both too young to participate in anything like this.
sawyer paused for just a second to flick her head, than continued his shooting. the girl grumbled more, fixing the gas mask that seemed to permanently reside on her face.
after completing her task, y/n threw the bomb over the gates. the tank that sat beside her began moving as the group swarm in to kill.
fire, smoke, gun powder. it was nauseating. the bombs and shooting had attracted biters. many people were retreating, or dead.
"sawyer!" y/n screamed, knowing no one stood a chance anymore.
the home they wanted had been destroyed. useless to keep fighting now.
y/n ran hopelessly around the prison shouting for her companion. "brian!" she screamed again.
there was nothing left. useless. this had all been useless. they gained nothing but death.
"brian!" y/n fell to her knees upon finding the man she'd been screaming for.
he had been injured, bleeding and gasping for air to fill his lungs. gasping for life.
"no, no, no" y/n shuddered pressing her hands firmly to his wound, a sad attempt to cease the bleeding.
"i'm sorry sweetheart" the man choked out. coughing blood on her mask. "i-i didn't want this to h-happen i-" he breathed carefully, as if trying to preserve what left he had in him.
he grasped at her mask sloppily, moving it off of her face. her teeth clenched together as tears spilled rapidly from her eyes.
"oh, honey" he whispered, attempting to wipe her tears. he placed his hand on her face, holding her softly.
"you can't leave me too, please!" she leaned into his hand. "please! we can fix this." she shouted, her eyes tightly shut.
the man pulled her into him. hugging her loosely and moving hair from her face.
"i-i want you t-to survive, princess." he whispered. his breathing slowing, along with his heart.
"no! no, no, please!" y/n sobbed into his chest.
she lay there, writhing in heartache and crying loudly. the biters didn't scare her anymore if they wanted her they could have her.
he was gone, that meant she had to be gone. how could she continue without him, without anyone.
"y/n!" she heard before a loud bang echoed through her ears. sawyer pulled her up. picking up her gas mask and tying it to his belt.
"let's go!" he grabbed her wrist pulling her forward. "no!" she screamed staring at brian's corpse. "you shot him!" she tugged on her wrist trying to break free.
"no! brian!" she sobbed, attempting to crawl toward him. his head blown apart from the bullet. pieces of his skull and brain splattered everywhere including on her.
sawyer ripped her from the ground, grabbing her shoulders hastily. "wake up blake! he's dead, he was gonna bite you okay? i saved you." sawyer spat, grabbing her mask and shoving it on her head. "you're a soldier, your order is to keep moving!"
and with that y/n clung onto sawyer's hand, allowing her body to move forward though her soul rested with brian's.
