he raised his hands, signalling his defeat.

she patted him down removing a pistol from his holster and knife from his back.

she then stood in front of him stuffing the pistol in her jeans and placing the knife in her pocket.

the intruder was a boy, a boy probably her age. he looked bored rather than scared. his hip was popped out as all his weight was on one leg. his arms were raised lazily. this annoyed her.

"what do you want?" she hissed, in attempts to sound menacing, though her voice was laced with her sickness.

"i could kill you now you know? but you've caught my curiosity." the boy smirked putting his hands down.

"you're cocky for someone unarmed." she huffed.

"i'm surprised you're even standing, are you bit?" the boy asked moving closer. he wore a sheriff's hat that looked a little too big for his head.

"stay back sheriff, not bit just sick" she raised her knife again, truth be told she was surprised she was standing too.

"what are you doing here all alone?" he yawned seemingly getting bored of their interaction.

"well i was sleeping before you broke in" she rolled her eyes.

"i'm sorry, you didn't answer the door so i let myself in" he scoffed getting too close in y/n's opinion.

"what are you doing here all alone?" she mocked watching him smile at her attitude.

"who says i'm all alone?" he muttered coming off a lot more menacing than y/n did.

"what's with the mask? scared of getting infected; if so it's a little late for that don't 'cha think?" he scoffed flicking her mask.

"playing dress up must've got to your head, there's not enough room for the two us 'ere" y/n hissed. he laughed.

"you're dumb, that wasn't even a good come back" he started walking around the house.

y/n bit back a groan; he was so annoying.

"can you just leave? i really don't feel like dealing with a dead body right now." she twirled the knife around in her fingers, an attempt to show how dangerous she really is.

"aww but i'm bored and you're funny, entertain me some more," he said as he walked down the stairs, peering outside before going into the kitchen.

"i'm not some toy idiot; just leave or kill me." she sighed, following him down the stairs and pulling the blanket tighter around her.

"someone was hungry," the boy teased, walking past the broken jar of pickles. he rummaged through the cabinets before his eyes lit up.

climbing on the counter top and reaching for something on top of the cabinet, y/n shouted a soft "hey!"

"oh, i'm sorry didn't mean to dirty your granite countertop," he rolled his eyes, jumping down the cabinet with probably the biggest tin of chocolate pudding y/n had ever seen in her life.

"nothing cures a cold like chocolate pudding, c'mon princess."

y/n was starting to wonder if this boy was having a hallucination due to the flu eating her brain like some biter.

she found herself sitting on the roof of her claimed house with the boy and his tin of chocolate pudding.

he pulled out a spoon and started eating.

"mhm just like i remember it...i think" he looked at the pudding than back out at the street.

"c'mon have some, like i said, cures colds, trust me," he urged.

she decided that if she were to die to the hands of a little pretend sheriff, she might as well as enjoy some chocolate pudding first. slipping off her mask, feeling embarrassed at the sudden exposure, she took the spoon from his hand and spooned the pudding into her mouth.

"wow you look like shit," he said before taking the spoon back and enjoying his pudding.

"you sure are the little charmer, aren't you?" she sniffed, wiping snot with the back of her hand.

"i'd like to think i am" he smirked taking another lick of the spoon before handing it to her.

she coughed into her elbow before digging into the tin.

"carl grimes," he said

"y/n blake"
