I looked out the car window, looking at where we'll be staying. I heard some Russian guy saying something on top of the building 'Hm the pink palace..weird name. Oh and that guys gonna die' I thought. As soon as the car stopped Coraline and I jumped out of the car. We ran inside, "Coralineeee? Can we go outsideeeeee pleaseeeeeeeeeee" I said in the most annoying voice I could make. Coraline groaned "fine! I'll have to find the well sometime."she grabbed her rain coat and handed me my favorite hoodie.

We put them on and went outside, Coraline grabbed a stick from a bush. She closed her eyes and let the stick-sorry, the ''dOwSiNg RoD'' guide her. I walked quickly behind her. A pebble fell from a high rock about a minute of walking. "Hello? Who's there?" Coraline called out, she threw a rock up at the area. There was a pained yet annoyed meow. Coraline looked startled and continued running I stayed right behind her 'dude, it was just a cat. What other animals do you think go meow idiot' she stopped at a fairy ring (circle of mushrooms) I saw some beautiful flowers and went to go get them for mom and dad's garden catalog. I heard my sister scream "AHH GET AWAY FROM ME!" I dropped the flowers running to my sister. I quickly pulled out my jack knife seeing a person with a strange mask on a dirt bike. I held it up, getting in between Coraline and the person "you come any closer He'll slit your throat!" Coraline made an empty threat. Sure I would leave a few cuts but murder? Actually-maybe-I MEAN UM I WOULD NEVER!
The person flipped up their mask to reveal..a boy? He actually looked around my age "h-hold on relax! You're from Texas or Utah some place dried out and barren right? I heard about water witching before, but it just doesn't make sense, I mean it's just an ordinary branch" he asked I put my jack knife back into my pocket and flipped him off "ouch um okay-" I realized he was holding Coraline's stick I grabbed it and gave it to her "it's a dowsing rod! And I don't like being stalked! Not by psycho nerds or their cats!" The boy pet the cat "well he's not really my cat he's kinda feral y'know wild. Of course I do feed him every night and sometimes he brings me little dead things"he said Coraline was ready to shoot him"Look we're from Pontiac." She said the boy tilted his head a little "Michigan. And if I'm a water witch then where's the secret well?" Coraline stomped down I heard wood and quickly stepped away "you stomp too hard and you'll fall in it" he said Coraline jumped back the boy dug up dirt inside the fairy ring and knocked on the wooden lid above it "see? It's supposed to be so deep that if you'd fall in you'd see a sky full of stars in the middle of the day"he said Coraline responded with a huh the boy continued "surprised she let you move in, my grandma, she owns the pink palace, won't rent to anyone with kids." Coraline gave a sarcastic but interested face "what do you mean?"she asked The boy looked around nervously "well I'm not supposed to talk about it..I'm Wybie, Wybie lovat." Coraline made a weird face 'she moves her face too much' I sighed "Wybie?" Coraline asked 'bitch don't act like you have such a normal name' Wybie looked even more embarrassed "short for Wyborn, not my idea of course. What did you get saddled with?" Wybie shook her hand with his muddy glove "we didn't get saddled with anything..it's Coraline" "Caroline what?" Coraline groaned quietly "COraline, Coraline Jones. And my brother can introduce himself" I flipped her off "I'm Y/n Jones-" "HE CAN SPEAK!?" Wybie asked yelling I held back a laugh "sorry sorry, you thought I couldn't speak"I asked he nodded awkwardly 'I'm done' I smiled Coraline grabbed my arm and pulled me further away from Wybie who actually seemed harmless. "WYBORN! WYBORN!"an elderly voice called out Coraline saw this as an opportunity to make him go away.
"I heard someone calling you WYBORN" she said in a rude voice I kinda feel bad for that Wybie guy. "I-I didn't hear anything well h-have to be going! Oh and that uh dowsing rod of yours it's poison oak Cya!" He got on his bike and sped off Coraline threw the stick "I'm done togay" I started walking back to the pink palace with a cat on my shoulder..wait when did he get here? "Togay?" Coraline asked I nodded "yes." 'I love this cat' the cat put his head on mine. Me and Coraline walked back to the pink palace this was one weird adventure. The cat jumped off my shoulder and disappeared behind a tree branch.'WHAT MAGIC KITTY????' I ran to the apartments
