He chased us into an alley. "Leave him alone!" Brian screamed. I watched dazed, as Brian got plowed down by the bully, Jacob. The bully picked me up by my shirt, I finally saw his repulsive face in all of its glory. I scowled at him. He gritted his teeth, I almost puked. They were dew yellow and there was still food between them. His breath reeked of...hazelnut coffee? I was interrupted from admiring his face when he threw me to the ground. "No!" My friend Avia screamed. She ran to my side and knelt down. I could see my crush Vivian standing as apart the circle the spectators made, she had her hand cupped over her mouth and a surprised expression shown in her eyes. Her same fair black hair was resting on her shoulders, like usual. Her eyes suddenly became glossy with tears. I had felt important again, I thought someone actually cared for me other than Brian and Avia. Then I realized that she was weeping, because her friend had just proposed to her, so that they could go to prom. I was shattered, I turned to my bully and felt a surge of energy, rage washed over me and before I knew it my fist was planted in the side of Jacob's face. I quickly jumped back and Jacob looked at me with disgust. I got in stance, Jacob ran right at me. I sidestepped, he ran into a brick building and a burst of laughter came from the crowd. He turned to me with his bloodshot eyes and a brooding expression.
"You should've given your laptop to me, and this never would've happened." Jacob grimaced.
"What do you mean? Oh, you getting your ass kicked never would've happened!" I taunted.
"I'm goin' to get my boys on you. Then you'll regret ever messin' with me." He said with a smug smile.
I began to walk away. "I'll probably just kick their teeth in!" I called from behind me. I picked up book bag that my laptop was in, and began to walk away with Brian and Avia. Vivian stopped me to say that what I did was awesome, I looked at her with a shameful expression, then walked away. Brian and Avia were silent, their faces were unreadable. We eventually split up and walked to our houses.I came home. My parents didn't acknowledge me, they just stayed in their rooms. I plopped down onto my bed and thought. Why did Vivian just now acknowledge me, I've helped her do her math, I've bought her gifts for her birthday multiple times, and I even volunteered to replace her during a play so that she could go hang out with her friends. She was supposed to be a girl character. I had to wear a dress! I never got a thank you. I felt my eyes get heavy, eventually I fell asleep. No dreams, just peaceful sleep.
