Chapter 10: Love and Loss

Taylor: Mom, its... its me, and... and Hayley.

Taylor's Mom starts growling viciously. It was a horrible sight.

Shane: Might wanna keep your distance.

Hayley: I thought Mom and Dad died fighting Kaiju. Not... not this.

Taylor walks up to his mom.

Taylor: See its me, remember.

She continues to growl and snarl causing Taylor to fall backwards.

Shane: She ain't your mom no more kid.

Mei: No she isn't.

You look over at Mei and can tell she too is a little uneasy.

Mei: When the Sisters take woman, they into their head, their mind. They replace who they were with... with something else. Something unnatural.

Spyder: Its sickening. I've seen Sisters who barely look human anymore.

Taylor: I... I don't know what... Hayley.

Hayley: Don't you dare come to me for comfort.

You can feel the tension between them. Hayley was furious about what happened to Boy.

Shane: What, your little one gone?

Mei gives Shane a stone cold death stare.

Shane: Right. Who cares? Spyder.

Spyder takes a little taser from his pocket and shocks Taylor's mom causing her to pass out.

Hayley: No!

You see Hayley run up her mom and hold on to her.

Hayley: She's still in there.

You then see her turn around and glare at Taylor.

Hayley: And I've been right about this before.

Taylor sighs. He knew exactly what she was talking about.

Shane: Maybe. Well, only one way to find out.

Taylor: What are you saying?

Shane: Oh, Mei knows what I'm saying.

You look over at Mei who scoffs.

Mei: Oh, I got it. If anyone can prowl around in someone's memory, its Shane. He's had lots of practice.

Mei was still giving Shane the death stare.

Hayley: You mean like in a Drift. Yes. Yes, let's try! We have to!

Taylor: Let's her in the conn pod.

Mei: Wait. He's not offering this service. He's trading for it.

Taylor: You want our Jaeger!

Shane: Nothing's free in the Black. You bring the Jaeger back to Bogan, and I'll fish out whatever's left of Mummy for Hantsel and Gretel.

At that moment you see may go and take a swing at Shane. You try to stop her but she was too fast. However, Shane eaily blocks the hit.

Mei: I am not merchandise.

Shane: Mei you don't belong here. I raised you like my own.

Y/N: Well she's not your own anymore pal! She can make her own choices!

Shane looks over at you and then back at Mei.

Shane: Who's that?

Mei: None of your business. Now let me go.
