'Elsa!' Anna shouted enthusiastically when she saw her sister entering the gate. Anna had been waiting for Elsa's arrival in the afternoon. Her light blonde sibling couldn't suppress a smile because of her sisters reaction. Anna had such a pure heart, Elsa thought. The siblings ran through the crowd of people into each others arms and they hugged for a long period of time. They had no idea everyone watched them with suprise and happiness. The guards kept close, but they also couldn't help but enjoy the reunification of the two highnesses.
'I really missed you.' Elsa sighed while resting her head on Anna's shoulder. Anna's heart melted thinking of the past when The Snow Queen pussed her away almost all of the time during their youth. Everything changed after Anna gave her life for her sister. It still felt like a little miracle every time Elsa let her come close. As a kid, she always desired for these moments. After Elsa discovered she was the Fifth Spirit, she had changed even more. She got more relaxed, the look in her eyes had been softened since and she showed her warm and loving heart more often, Anna thought. Elsa stroke a strand of hair behind Anna's ear and the two looked in each others eyes for a moment and smiled.
'Come!' Anna took Elsa's hand and they started walking towards the castle. The two ignored the attention they got from bystanders that were watching the Hignesses. 'How's living in the Enchanted Forest?' Anna said while they walked. Elsa sighed satisfied.
'It was a very good decision, I made. I feel more like myself over there. In Arendelle, I always had a feeling that I didn't not belong there. Hard to explain...'
'I know what you mean, you're the one side of the bridge between spirits and people and I am the bridge between people and you.'
'Exactly.' Somehow it hurt a little that Elsa found it hard to really connect to people, but understood what her sister meant. They decided this together. 'I feel more my own core living with the spirits.'
The weather in Arendelle changed a lot in a short period of time. It was spring, but temperatures already hit between 68 and 77 Fahrenheit. That was unusual and it seemed that nature was a bit of balance. For example there were a lot of caterpillars, but the birds didn't have juveniles yet, so it could be a hard time to feed the juveniles when they hatch. Anyways, it was warm enough to sit outside. Anna and Elsa took place at the balcony of the castle so they could sit quietly without being disturbed by a lot op people. The citizens tried to meet the Princess, but Elsa didn't want a generous reception when she would arrive. A servant came to them and held a teapot.
'Your Majesties, would you like some tea?' He asked. The queen and princess nodded and he poured tea into their white and gold tea cups. The servant wanted to reach for the milk and sugar.
'Thanks, we'll be okay.' Anna nodded meaning that they could do things themselves from now. The servant bowed shortly and walked away. Anna reached for the tea and sugar to give them to Elsa, but Elsa refused it.
'You don't sweeten your tea anymore?' Anna asked.
'No, living with the Northuldra people made me live more sober.' It was a half-truth, because indeed her new lifestyle was more minimalistic and more based on natural resources. It was also true that her appetite had been decreased these days. Something felt quite off and she had no idea what. I thought we made peace with nature, but now she's showing weird things again, Elsa pondered. It's just a little warm for the time of the year, no big deal. You fuss about nothing. That same moment Gerda, another servant of the castle, came with a dish. She placed it on the table. Elsa got a huge smile on her face.
'Chòòcolate!' Chanted the sisters in union and laughed. One chocolate couldn't hurt, Elsa thought by herself.
'One thing I missed in the Enchanted forest!' Elsa took a piece and enjoyed the deep, rich and sweet taste melting on her tongue.
'One reason to visit Arendelle more often!' Anna reacted. Elsa hummed a bit, but she knew by herself that she didn't really want that, not because of Anna, but Arendelle never really felt like a home to her. Arendelle also reminded her of her past. It was still hard to face some rooms of the castle. They remembered her the lonely en miserable life she lived when growing up. She also felt sorry for Anna for cutting her out of her life, so she left Anna lonely and questioning too. While still thinking, Elsa took a sip of her tea and realized it was ice cold. She looked surprised at her cup and saw that she froze it.
'Okay...what were you thinking of?' Anna asked not surprised and had a frown on her face. She knew that Elsa still froze things when she was for example worried or afraid.
'Nothing special, but I definitely want a new cup of tea.' She chuckled to hide her feelings. In the meantime of their conversation, Gerda had been taken place at the door of the balcony. When Gerda heard what Elsa said, she inmediately walked away to pick up a new cup, came back and gave it to Elsa.
'Thank you, Gerda.' Elsa politely responded. Elsa still kept her politeness and kindness even though she lived a more rough life in the Enchanted Forest. It was what suited her character, the same as always being subdued and introvert, even though she opened up a lot.
'Now tell me everything about living with the Northuldrian people!' Anna called as if she took Elsa out of her thoughts. The Fifth Spirit laughed.
'It's different...They live very simple and spend their days by doing chores.' Elsa startled. 'But I like it, it is a very structured way of living. It gives me lot of time to think and I like being busy with my hands.'
'Sound boring to me, but I know I am different, haha! Do you already have friends?'
'Well, I see, they are very connected to each other and I feel very welcomed there. I spend most time with the family of Yelena. Honeymaren and Ryder are my best friends. They also feel a bit like a sister and brother. But one thing is for sure, Anna, nobody can ever replace our bond. That is what I miss the most.' Elsa placed her hand on Anna's hand and squeezed a little bit. Anna turned her hand and they folded their hands together.
'I love you, Elsa.'
'I love you too.'
'Did you meet someone special?' Anna grinned.
'Anna...' Elsa mumbled.
'Come on, tell me!'
'You know Anna, I have never been specially interested in someone!' The question hurted always. Couldn't she find love, wasn't she made for it or was there nobody who could really understand who she was and what she had been through? Or maybe was her purpose of life to stay alone for who she was as the Fifth Spirit. She actually didn't think much of it as long as people didnt'start talking about this subject.
'Yes, but I hope for you that you might find someone, one day...' Elsa could hear the dissapointment in her sisters voice.
'Maybe I don't need it, sweetheart. I still learn a lot about myself today and maybe as the Fifth Spirit, this is not for me.'
'You don't even know what that is, do you?' Anna's words hit Elsa in her heart and she became quiet. 'I'm sorry, Els, I didn't mean t...'
'It's fine, I know you don't. It's just that I sometimes still need to learn to accept myself exactly the way I am. I am different.' Elsa interrupted and she looked into the blue, with a green-greyish hint, eyes of her sister. Anna's eyes start to sparkle again.
'Come.' Anna said and she took Elsa into her embrace.
