All I remember was how silent the crowd got as my horse fell on top of me, pinning me to the ground. I remember the agonizing pain I got in my leg, it felt like my leg was on fire, till the one point I couldn't feel it anymore. Eventually I passed out from the pain. I woke up a few hours later in a hospital bed with half my leg gone. Soon, it was learned that the lower half of my leg had become infected, the doctor tried to save it but failed. It was better to just get rid of the infected part.
A few days later I was finally released from the hospital and was approached by a woman named Elizabeth Jackson; she was the head of Walker Riverside Academy. A school that many dreamed of getting into but few ever did.
"Sam Taylor right?" she asked.
" Yeah, that's me. What can I do for you?" I responded.
" My name is Elizabeth Jackson, I'm the head of Walker Riverside Academy, I'm here to ask you to come and join our school." Elizabeth stated.
" Thank you for your offer and as much as I would like to, I dont know if you can see but I'm kind of crippled right now." I told her.
" There are prosthetic legs for riding and we can work on building back up the strength in your leg, if you come to our school. Take a few days to think about it alright." Elizabeth said, handing a piece of paper with her number to me.
After all that I asked my mom to take me to the stables so I could see Kash. Thankfully, she agreed and we pulled up to the stables almost 15 minutes later. I rushed to get out of the car and grabbing my crutches, I scurried off to go see Kash.
When I got to Kash's stall he stopped what he was doing and came to the stall door, whinnying softly. I opened the stall door, stepped inside grabbing the brush that I had left there before, and started to brush Kash, a relaxing past time for both me and him. Eventually he started to sniff and nudge around what was left of my leg making wobble a bit.
I was there with Kash for about an hour before I had to go home.

It was about a month or two after the accident and I gotten the stiches in my leg out. I had also gotten my first prosthetic leg. It was weird at first but not the worst thing. A few weeks after I had gotten my leg, and only a few weeks left in summer, my mom told me to start packing for school. She had called Elizabeth and told I was coming. I mean dont get me wrong I would love to go, but Mom didn't ask me, and I haven't even ridden cash again yet.
But, anyway I started to pack up all the stuff I needed.
