Jason pov-

"Alright, boys, we've go another mission for you, and it will be a long one this time, depending on how fast you complete it." My Commanding Officer, Will Cullen, informed us as my team and I sat at our chairs in our mission briefing room.

I sighed and impatiently twirled my pen in my right hand, anxious to get back home to my family. My wife, Brooklynn Elizabeth Maxwell, now Brooklynn Elizabeth Haywood, and my 3 children, soon to be 4: 6 year old Elijah Jackson Thaddeus Haywood, 4 year old Hailey Renae Addison Haywood, 3 year old Everly Harper Gracynn Haywood, and finally, our little unborn son, Joshua Alexander Peter Haywood.

Brooklynn, my wife of 5 years, 6 in 4 months, was due to give birth to Joshua literally ANY DAY now, and I was stuck here at the base getting briefed on a mission that C.O. Cullen could have let me zoom call in, but he had insisted that I be here in person.

To say I was mad would be an understatement, but I was mostly having major anxiety and panic that Brooklynn would come into labor while I was here and not there with her.

Roy had found out that I had faked my death 6 years ago, and he had cried in my arms and had refused to let me out of his arms for an entire day. But, I had forced him to not tell anyone about it. If Bruce knew that I was alive, then I had a feeling that he would try to take my kids from me and make my life complete hell again, and I was not going to risk telling my family that I was alive for that. That wasn't going to happen, and Roy understood and agreed.

I was broke out of my thoughts by a hand on my shoulder, and when I looked up, I saw the face of Damian Andrews (Renegade) looking at me in slight concern and understanding. "Jay, you good? You zoned out for a good 10 minutes, bud." my second in command for my team, Soldiers of Anarchy, said, and I nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just wanting to get home to Brooklynn as fast as possible, that's all. Joshua's due any day." I said, bouncing my leg up and down quickly.

Cullen had a knowing glint in his green eyes. "I'm sorry to drag you out here, Jason, but I thought that you would want to hear this specific mission in person, and away from your family so that they don't see the anger that I know is going to come with it." He said, and I looked at him. "What do you mean? Almost nothing could get me angry over a mission, Sir." I pointed out, and I received several nods of agreement.

"Not this time. For this mission, you boys will be acting as a protection detail for the Wayne family in Gotham City, New Jersey, and the mission will be as long as it takes for you to take out the threat against them."

I narrowed my eyes, which had started to glow a faint green. "Wayne? What the fuck did the old man do this time? Piss off the president of France?" I asked, and Will shook his head. "No. Bruce Wayne has been receiving threats from an organization known as the Court of Owls. They don't seem to be after Bruce himself, but instead his children, specifically Richard Grayson. Alfred Pennyworth has called us this morning and asked for you boys specifically, as of your reputation and skills, and with Jason's knowledge of the Court, you are to take them down while protecting the Wayne's and then handle the other situation that Alfred has said recently fallen upon them." Cullen explained.

Damian frowned. "There's more?" he asked, and Cullen nodded. "Yes. These are the Wayne family, for those of you who don't know who they are. Alfred Pennyworth, who I know you all know who he is, Bruce Wayne, Richard Grayson, Barbra Gordon, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, Duke Thomas, and Damian Grayson, adopted son of Richard Grayson. Now, I was informed that another group, the League of Assassins, are after a few of the Wayne children: Tim, Damian, and Cassandra. However, This is also where an interesting piece of information comes in. Apparently, the League of Assassins almost managed to kidnap Tim Drake, but was stopped by Richard, Damian, and Cassandra. The outcome of this was not good. According to Alfred, Tim has been what they call, de-aged. Meaning, your age gets reversed down to that of a child, and the Wayne's said that it's permanent."
