Will's pov I woke up in a cold sweat, my breath heavy and my eyes wide. Another nightmare. At this point, should i even try to sleep anymore? I rolled over to my bedside table and looked at my clock. It read 06:27. I sighed and got up, starting to get ready for school. I hate school. It's just a place where they put random teenagers together and make them learn stuff i could just learn at home. Plus the relentless bullying, Im sick of it! People calling me mean names because i was kidnapped? Why don't they try staying alive in the Upside Down?
Once i was changed, I went downstairs to see El stuffing her face with eggos. Of course. I rolled my eyes at her, making her scowl. Yeah, she is my sister, but she has been hogging Mike, he never hangs out with me anymore and we are supposed to be best friends. I grabbed an eggo from her huge stack and headed out the door. "Hey, give that back you dick!" She called out, but I ignored her. Jumping on my bike, i took a huge bite out of the waffle and began to ride to school. I met Dustin and Lucas on the way and we all rode together. They wouldn't stop talking about their ex-girlfriends though." I can't believe Max dumped me because she decided she doesn't like me anymore, like that is so unfair!" Lucas ranted. "At least it's not because your girlfriend isn't allowed to be with you so now she has an arranged marriage she doesn't even want!"Dustin complained. I just cycled away. I can't bear to hear then complaining about being dumped when they don't know the struggle i feel. Every day i go through internalised homophobia, and the person i care about most doesn't give a damn about me. Try my life.
Once i arrived at school, i threw my bike into the racks, not really caring about where it landed. It reminds me to much of Mike for me to care. I walked into school, homophobic comments thrown at me everywhere I went. I winced at them and decided to just go straight to form instead of hang out with Max. I sat down in my seat and started to doodle on a loose scrap of paper, my mind wandering. I looked back at the paper to see i had drawn me and Mike at the snowball.

I glared at the paper for ages, but just ended up scrunching it up and throwing it in the bin. Why on earth would I draw a picture of Mike? I don't even like him anymore! Soon the rest on the students began to fill in to the classroom, chatting noisily. As soon as Max walked into the classroom she spotted me, and I could see a look of concern on her face. She came and sat down next to me, but didn't say anything. Strange. Once everyone was seated, she slipped me a note, saying 'i know ur not ok. Me, u, lunchtime, garden.' I simply responded, saying 'k' and passing it to her, which seemed to make her even more concerned.
*Time skip to lunchtime* I walked over to the garden and sat down on me and Max's favourite bench. She was already there, and she smiled at me sadly. "I know you're hurting Will, what's wrong?" She asked calmly, but her eyes filled up with tears. Even stranger. "My best friend is dating a psychopathic bitch and there is absolutely nothing i can do about it." I replied simply, sighing. "Oh, ok." She replied looking down. I looked down at her, she looked super upset. "Max... what's wrong?"i asked cautiously, knowing how explosive she can get. She looked up at me, tears streaming down her face. "I... have a crush on El..."she muttered, wiping her face. My jaw dropped and i just stared at her.
How could she like that bitch? She is such a horrible, mean person since she became friends with those girls, Poppy and Amber. Then I realised something. If she likes El... and I miss Mike... we can work together to split them up! This should be easy! Just feed false information to each of them and then they will break up! Then we will have them all to ourselves! FINALLY!!! "Max... This is brilliant!" I exclaimed, "We can create a plan to split them up, and then we will have them all to ourselves!" Max's face slowly lit up. We didn't even need to say anything we knew that plan BMAEU (Break Mike And El Up) is underway.
