Chapter Five

                               Phoenix pov
(New pov! Oooooh exciting!)

Me and Will were just chilling on his bed when I randomly asked,
"What day is it?"
"Uhhhh, Sunday?" He asked confused.
"Then don't you have s... sch...scho..."
"School?"
"Yeah that thing!"
"Yeah I do have school tomorrow, why?"
"Can I come?"
"Well, we have to get you some clothes first, but after that, sure!"
"YES!" I yelled throwing my hands up in the air.
"I am like really bad at picking clothes though, so I might have to invite one of my friends over to help," He explained.
"Are they... bad?" I asked hesitantly.
"No! No, of course not!" He exclaimed.
"Ok then," I smiled. He went over to the phone and began to call someone, asking them to come over. Soon enough, they had arrived and sat on the bed facing away from me.
"What's the fashion emergency?" The girl asked. Will signalled behind him to show her me.
"Oh! Hi I'm Max! You are?" She said holding out her hand.
"Phoenix," I replied, shaking her hand.
"Well what are we doing just sitting here, Starcourt awaits!" Max proclaimed dramatically and dragged me and Will to the bus stop. Around 20 minutes later, we arrived at the so-called Starcourt and walked in. There were huge swarms of people everywhere and I clung to Will's arm for safety.
"You have superpowers remember? You'll be fine," He whispered in my ear. I nodded my head and unlatched from him. Max brought us to a store called JC Penny, where there were loads of clothes to try on. I ended up choosing lots of outfits. I took a particular liking to floral dresses, even though Max didn't think they were cool. I think they looked pretty. I looked pretty. We had lots of fun trying on all the different outfits. We then went to scoops ahoy to get some ice cream, something I had never had before. It was absolutely delicious/disgusting! Max and Will laughed at my bizarre expressions. We were all laughing and running about the shop when we decided to go to Max's house to watch her skateboarding. We were chilling outside when Max's skateboard rolled away and when she went to retrieve it, a girl with shoulder-length brown hair and big hazelnut eyes picked it up and said
"Hi,"
"Hi?" Max replied confused.
"Can we talk?" The girl replied.
Will nudged me on the shoulder and whispered, "That's Eleven, you can call her El,"
"HOLY SHIT REALLY!" I yelled. Max and Eleven both turned their heads towards me confused.
"Sorry, I am just like a huge fan and I have heard so much about you and... wow, ok sorry!" I stumbled. I lifted up my sleeve to show her the tattoo which she gasped at but then smiled. We went upstairs to Max's room where Eleven told Max her problem.
"He's a piece of shit," Max glared.
"What?" Eleven questioned.
"Mike hasn't got jackshit to do today! I bet you him and Lucas are playing Atari right now," Max declared.
"But friends don't lie!" Eleven protested.
"Yeah, but boyfriends do. All. The. Time." Max stated seriously. Me and Will shared a look but turned away from each other quickly. I felt my cheeks begin to warm up. There's a strange feeling in my chest, like the feeling I felt for a boy in the lab, 003 or Alfie.
"PHOENIX!" Max yelled, snapping her fingers in front of my face.
"Oh, sorry, yeah?" I replied.
"We're going back to Star-Court, you and Will can look around the other shops or something."
"Ok,"

Will pov
While Max and El went shopping again, Phoenix and I went to look at some more comics. She found one that she took a particular liking too. She sat down and began to read. I just stared. I can't deny it, she looks really cute. Her y/h/c hair was behind her ear and her y/e/c were excitedly looking at the book. We sat in their for a little while, and I eventually got a comic too, I didn't want to look suspicious. Her hair seemed to be bothering her though, it keeps coming out from behind her ear. Luckily, Will the Wise always keeps spare hair clips for when he wants to look stupid in public. I shuffled closer to her and tucked her hair behind her ear, carefully slotting the hair clip in. She looked up at me and her cheeks were bright red. We stared at each other for an eternity, but somehow it wasn't awkward.
"Will, is that you?" I heard a voice say, forcing me to break eye contact. It turned out to be Lucas and Mike, shopping for a gift for El. Eventually I decided to go with them, literally dragging Phoenix out the store. I love hanging out with her.
