Sometimes I feel like I'm not suited to be me. I look at someone and I ask myself, what would life be like if I were them? I'm probably zoning out right now, and Zeina is trying to wake me up, screaming, 'Maxine, Maxine!!'.

"Maxine? Oh, finally! Class is finally over, and the boys are practicing basketball today!" She squeals.
"Ugh, fine.." I groan. It was pretty boring, but I have to admit, I love basketball. It's so stupid they won't let me train for the team just because I'm a girl.
Zeina quickly pulls me out of my chair and we both run to the basketball court.

"You don't have to run so fast, you know? I can walk on my own." I say. Zeina can be over energetic, but I really like that about her. I think it's a really cute trait for someone to have.

We take a seat and Zeina begins to fidget her legs around and twirl her hair. "Oh my gosh, look at Zander!~ he's so good at playing basketball..." She says as she cheers for his team. It was very obvious why she wanted to go, of course, and if I'm being honest, I'm pretty jealous of Zander. He always has his short, fluffy hair, even after sweating for hours playing, while the shortest I can have my hair is up to my shoulders, because my mom says I need to keep my 'precious' hair.

"Maxine, are you seeing this? He scored another goal, without passing to his team! He's so talented." Zeina shakes my thigh and points to the tall, bronde hair figure.
"yes, yes, I see him." I reply, although I'm already half asleep. The guy was probably a jerk in dating anyways.

The rest of the day, me and Zeina were just hanging out and talking about future plans, although she was mostly talking about Zander.
"okay, I'm heading home now. See you tomorrow!" She exclaims, as she runs to the house next to mine. I nod and head home. It's a good thing we were neighbors, so that we can immediately go to each other's house incase of an emergency.

As soon as I got home, I ran upstairs and jumped on my bed. I used to share a bunk bed with my sister, but she had to move out a week ago to go to college. I still text her a lot, though her school isn't that far away from mine.
I was checking out my phone for any new messages, when I heard my mom. "honey, I'm going out on a long meeting, okay? Lunch is on the dining table and you can have the pasta from yesterday for dinner. Love you!" she shouts.

"Okay....!" I reply back. As soon as she left, my front door crashed open.
"Maxine! I'm coming upstairs!!!" Zeina screams. I had definitely forgotten I had given her my spare keys.
"ugh.. We haven't seen each other for less than an hour!" I mumble as she runs inside my room.
"well, this is important! Zander asked me on a Date!" she exclaims.

On a... Date!? How so sudden? I swear he had just met her a few days ago.
"what!?" I immediately sat up on my bed.
"yes! He wants to meet at the park at 7:30pm today!!!" She replies. "wait, today?" I ask. Zeina nods in response.
I could feel my heart stop for a good second. They haven't even known each other for a week yet.

"fine, I'll help you get ready. I have some extra dresses in the closet next to my bathroom." I say.
"oh my gosh, thank you!!" she squeals. It took a while, but we found the perfect clothes for her. It was a black crop top with a long, beige skirt to cover the stomach part. To complete it, I added a small, white jacket incase it was too cold.

"I look amazing! Your the best, Maxine!!" Zeina says. "yea yea, now go get your man!" I hype her up.
"yes!" she screams and runs outside.

"Make sure to lock the doors!" I shout, and I hear the keys turning on my front door. I sigh in relief, and I go back to flopping on my bed.
