AN: HI, here's the second chapter, I hope you enjoy it! (if you see errors, no you don't 🙂)
Elena sat on her bed as she heard a knock on the door. "Chica, it's time!" Soap eyes as he stands on the door. She nods and gets up following Soap. Elena felt her legs weakened but she knew she had to stay strong, this will be bigger than the previous missions she's been in. Her and Soap exited the cubby and walked to another building, there she see's Price, Gaz, Ghost and two others she didn't recognize.
"Welcome gentlemen and ladies, as you all know we are at war. Our target, General Ghobrani, who knows what he is up with the Russians. Exchange? Money? We must put to end to this before anything big happens. Now Price, I see a new face here, care to introduce her?" General Shephard replied, looking at Price.
"Yes, General and Laswell, this is Elena, code name Sombra for this mission. A well know skilled soldier that worked combat with me, I recruited her because I know she won't let us down including myself." Price scoots Elena a little more for everyone to see her. Elena extended her hand out as Shephard shook her hand, including Laswell "Good to see another women in the field." She said proudly with a smile.
"You as well, hopefully Price words will be true, knowing it will." Laswell says with a big smile. Elena goes back to her original spot as Laswell gets her computer ready. As she gets comfortable, Elena glances at Ghost as he already looking at her. She looked away quickly as she collected herself. She still felt eyes on her but then she looked again, not taking her eyes off Ghost. Something about Ghost eyes, Elena saw his past and everything he dealt with.
"We will have a chopper surprise for Ghobrani, see what he is up to. Ghost and Elena will observe to see what his intention in Al-Marzarah, also Elena code name will be Sombra for the remainder of the mission." Laswell speaks up as she looks at the screen. "The rest will be a cover in case anything happens. Any questions?" She says as she looks at everyone. No one said anything as Elena was fiddling her fingers.
"Good, everyone out. Ghost and Elena, you'll have the chopper pick you up and head from there." Shepard calls as both Ghost and Elena walk out. As they were walking out, the group calls them "Good luck, we'll be watching and support as well!" Elena gave them all a smile as she walked side to side with Ghost. They both entered the chopper as silence filled the room, only the sounds of the outside filled the void. "So, how long have you been doing this? You know being in Task Force 141?" Elena filled the awkwardness as she sat across from Ghost.
Ghost didn't say anything, the only thing he was doing was holding his gun, just looking at her. He was observing how a women besides Laswell even got to the fields. He just kept staring at her until Elena felt uncomfortable. "Very long time obviously!" He spat with his heavy accent. Elena was a little stunt, almost remembering how her father spoke to her. It gave her shakes and chills just even by it's memory.
"Oh yes, I'm sorry. I worked with Price many years ago. It was very intense but I am ready for whatever outcome will be happening." She said with a smile, feeling a lump on her throat. Even though she's a tough cookie, at the same time she's sensitive to loud things. She was rocking back and forth to calm herself, Ghost saw her as he looked away but proceeded to pick her up to face him.
"You better hope Price's words are true, if not, it'll be the last for you." Ghost said as he grasped Elena neck with his hand. His eyes were stone cold sounding very serious where her eyes were in tears. "If I were to fail any mission, you can do that, I don't mind at all. I'm used to it." That made Ghost loosen his grip as Elena fiddled her eyes around. She pushed him off of him as she sat back down, collecting herself.
"I'm not the type of person to let someone down, if I say I'll do good, then I complete it without hesitation." Elena said as she fixed her uniform, she collected her thought and what had happened. She sat back down as the chopper felt jumpy, indicating they landed. She got back up again, not looking at Ghost, waiting for the big doors to open. She felt eyes looking at her knowing it was him but she didn't care and focused on the mission.
As the big doors opened, they landed on a secluded cave, just enough to walk through. "Ghost and Sombra, up ahead you will see General Ghobrani, find out what he is up too and update us, out." Laswell communicated with them through the earpieces. Elena walked up first, observing her surroundings as she looked up. She was deadly afraid of heights when she was little but she was capable of mountain climbing.
"Alright, let's check it out." She looked at Ghost as she walked but she didn't hear footsteps behind her as she stopped. "Earth to Ghost, cmon!" Elena shouted as she walked up to him, looking up. Ghost again didn't say anything as he pushed her away, leaving her stunned again. She had tears in her eyes again but refrained them from falling as she followed behind him. She kept her eyes on the front but still observed the environment around her.
A bright light entered through cave as Ghost went to his right side and Elena went to her left side, then now seeing a small base out in the open, basically in the middle of nowhere. "Laswell to Ghost, I have eyes on a base. It's decent but no sign of Ghobrani." Elena then nudged Ghost as she asked for the binoculars, she had to confirm who the face was. She gave them back to Ghost and pointed to where he Ghobrani is.
"Laswell, It's Sombra, I have contact with the general, looks like exchange with the Russians." Elena stated as she looked at Ghost, giving him a light smile. She was afraid of what he will say but again he didn't say anything. She figured that he observe more than speak. "Shadows, you know what to do, Graves will operate the missile. Out!" Laswell cut as Graves spoke next.
"Ghost and Sombra, I'd advise to stand back as impact will be hard." Graves says on the radio, Elena on the other hand was full prepared for it. She stood behind Ghost, knowing how missiles explode. Ghost on the other hand didn't move and just stands in the same spot. She always wondered what goes in Ghost's mind, of course everyone is different but for him, he seemed like a calm individual.
Loud eary sounds came from behind as it was the missiles coming in. Elena covered her ears with ear fingers as it went BOOM. Ghost looking away as clutters of the explosion were everywhere. Elena on the other hand still had her ear covered as she was still sensitive. She walked up closer to Ghost, seeing the destruction in front of them. "Fucking hell, direct...target destroyed." Ghost looked at Elena as he said, Elena nodded, looking back at the destruction.
Few hours later
Elena was relaxing in the living room, seeing what to eat starting in the fridge. She had comfortable clothing but a black sweater to cover her breasts, hoping no one would see them. She looked in the fridge, trying to find what to eat, when she closed the door, she was greeted by Ghost standing where the fridge door was. She immediately dropped her apple sauce and crossed her arms.
"Puta madre, you scared the shit out of me!!" Elena almost fell back but regained her balance, she still had her arms crossed just to be safe. There was pure silence again between the two, "Look if you're asking about me nudging you, I'm sor-" Ghost grabbed and pinned her against the wall, letting her back hit it. It caught Elena by surprise as her face was red as a tomato. She wasn't thinking "that" but she couldn't figure out what was going on.
Ghost patted her head as a form of appreciation, "Not at all a problem, I think it's cute seeing a 5'2 acting tough!" He said as he leaned down towards Elena. Her face was pouty as her eyes wandered around. "You're the one to speak big boy!" She said smirking. Just then the sound of doors opened. "Lookie here, the rookie and the lieutenant!" Soap teased both Ghost and Elena.
Elena quickly pushed Ghost away as she zipped up her sweater, "Hello boys, how are you two?" She tried changing the subject as she heard Ghost behind her, "We're relaxing until our next mission but hey, gotta ask, how was it out in the field with our lieutenant?" Gaz nudged Elena, adding some pain. She chuckled it off, looking at Ghost, "Even if little words were exchanged, he observes more around which I like." Elena admits while she attempts to pat his head but fails, instead on the back.
"Aye LT, taking a hunch huh?" Soap said to Ghost as his eyes widen. Both Gaz and Elena looked at each other as another door was opened, this time was Price. "Gentleman and lady, we are needed by Shepard and Laswell, now!" He said as he led the way, followed by everyone. Elena on the other hand, quickly went to change in formal clothing and followed them.
