My mood was shot after Darius left my sister's party and it didn't help that everyone wanted to give their opinion on my current circumstance. I had women recommending marriage counsellors, divorce lawyers and telling me that I should get revenge on him which is very unlike me.
Had I not been pregnant then I probably would have taken all the advice that I could get that night but I have bigger things to think about. I have a two year old daughter and an unborn child to protect from this mess that keeps escalating.
Isabella has taken my daughter out for some food while I have a much needed talk with Adrienne. My sisters are the only people I consider family since going no contact with our parents and relatives seven years ago.
"I'm going to ask you one question and I need you to tell me the truth." Adrienne holds my hand as I slowly nod my head. "Are you going to stay?"
This is the question on everybody's lips and I wish I was strong enough to say that I was leaving but I'm not.
"Jasmine." Adrienne closes her eyes momentarily as I don't answer her question. "Why?"
"We've built a whole life together, I'm raising his first born while pregnant with his second child." My voice cracks as the pain runs deep inside my soul. "I am finally getting my life together since having Leilani and I don't want to be a single mother, raising two kids without any source of income. When Darius and I got married, I didn't have a backup plan because I knew that he was the one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I don't want to be alone."
"You're not alone." My sister looks into my eyes. "You have me, you have Isabella who will literally give up everything to be at your side."
"And you have a business." I remind her. "You have a husband."
A tear falls from my eye.
"Isabella has her whole life ahead of her, the modelling career that she dreamed of is starting to take her all over Europe." I smile sadly. "Who am I to make her give it all up?"
