jeongguk didn't know he would be this impacted by taehyung's words or more precisely his rejection, let it be direct or indirect. yes, he knew he had strong feelings for him but he never really considered the fact that those might not be accepted by the other.

so when taehyung did that, he didn't know how to stop the immense pain he felt in his heart. he had never expressed these kind of feelings before so he was totally unaware of how to deal with them.

the only thing he was certain of was that he was pretty much in love with taehyung and that wasn't going to change anytime soon. he, for the first time in his life, cried for someone, cried because of someone. jeongguk couldn't really sleep or eat properly, his negative mood affected his physical health a lot. he couldn't help but dislike everything. he felt like he lost a battle, without even giving a chance to fight.

he saw taehyung's texts and he didn't know what to think of them. he wasn't sure what the other was trying to do but one thing jeongguk knew was, he can't really deal with any of that at the moment. so two weeks later, he decided to drag his haggard self out of the bed and go to his school, it was a big step for him. it took him a lot of effort to make up his mind and stop mourning for the loss of something he never had.

he locked the front door after him as he heaved a deep breath trying to calm himself. he had just taken a few steps away from his house when he stopped dead in his tracks.

the omega seemed to have a similar reaction as he stared wide eyed at the other. jeongguk wetted his lips, feeling his throat getting dry.

no he wasn't ready for this.

so without thinking, he just turned away, ready to runaway from the other. but the soft voice of the brunet made his feet stay rooted at the same spot.

"guk wait!" taehyung's voice was filled with worry and urgency, jeongguk was already hating this. he closed his eyes taking a deep breath before turning around.

"hi," taehyung breathed out walking closer to him, stopping just a few centimetres away. jeongguk nodded, not trusting his voice at all as he pushed his hands into his pockets and turned his head away. taehyung observed how guarded the other looked and that just made a big frown to appear on his pretty face.

"how are you?" taehyung dared to ask and this earned a reaction from the other who looked at him in his eyes now. a whirlpool of emotions flowing in the ravenette's dark orbs. but jeongguk had no desire to show any of that.

"i'm actually getting late.", was the only thing he muttered before scurrying away. taehyung stood there stupefied by the situation as he watched the other walk farther away.

he let out a shaky breath trying not to get upset.

so jeongguk was actually avoiding me.

he mumbled to himself as he trudged towards his own school. and this was what he was scared of the most. he hugged his arms around his body as he gazed at the passing trees and the empty road. he couldn't focus on anything the whole day. he couldn't pay attention to any of the lectures as he kept thinking about how to make up with the alpha.

and he knew he can't let the other be like that any longer so after school he got changed into fresh clothes, ate his lunch and made a beeline for the alpha's house. he knocked on the door nervously waiting for it to be opened. mrs jeon opened it.

"hello mrs jeon," he said politely and the woman just gave a small smile as she spoke, "hi taehyung, seeing you after quite sometime. i thought you and jeongguk fought or something. no?" her tone had something taehyung couldn't decipher. she had never acted like that before.
