A groan left Kaylin's lips when she was waking up in her bed. She felt the grip around her waist tighten, and a smile graced her lips, she opens her eyes and looked over her shoulder and saw Jay laying there in bed behind her, shirtless.

"Good morning, sunshine,"

"Good morning, handsome." Kaylin sits up, grabbing his shirt that he tossed on the ground, and she slips it on. "What do you want for breakfast?"

"How about we go out before I start work, then we can take Noah to the zoo later on?"

"That sounds nice since I'm off for the next week watching him. I'm surprised Hank let me take this week off." Kaylin smiles, walking to her dresser drawers and grabs an outfit for the day.

A pastel green short sleeve shirt, a cream cardigan, bright blue, ripped skinny jeans, and brown boots to finish off the look. She then brushes her hair and puts it up in a medium ponytail with some strands in her face.

Jay had already gotten dressed, and he looked at her while having a huge smile on his face.

"Don't you look adorable."

"Stop," Kaylin groans jokingly, turning around and kissing his lips. "I'm ready to go, Noah should be here soon."

Jay smiles and nods. Kaylin grabs her purse and walks out with Jay. They walked to his truck and opened the door for her. Kaylin smiles, hoping in, and Jay shuts the door while she gets buckled and sets her purse on the floor next to her.

"I'm surprised your mom let's a friend of hers to drive Noah here."

"It's just Uncle Sonny, mom gives him the gas and good money for both ways. I believe I told him we were meeting at XOCO. Treat them to a nice place when they get here."

Jay smiles and touches her thigh, making her smile back at him.

"Big sissy!!" Noah calls out rushing to her as she holds out her arms, and he runs into them, hugging her tight. "I missed you!"

"I missed you too, Noah. You're getting so big!" Kaylin told her little brother.

"You say that every time I come to visit you, big sissy." Noah giggles making her chuckle. Kaylin rubs his head a little bit and grabs his hand.

"Thanks for bringing him Uncle Sonny." Kaylin told him, looking up at the blond in front of her. Carisi smiles at Kaylin. "I'm sure mom appreciates it."

"Of course, she did." Carisi smiles at her. "Anything to let you see him. Aunt Amanda is picking him up in six days so you can spend time with him."

"Awesome," Kaylin grins. "You ready to eat? My treat."

Noah and Carisi grin and nod walking into the restaurant.

A few hours later, Kaylin and Noah were hanging out at the house playing a retro game on the big screen. Noah was kicking Kaylin's butt at it, and it was amusing to say the least. Before she could deliver the final move, her phone rang. She blinks as Noah delivers the final blow making her groan once more.

"Dang it..." Kaylin groans and grabs her phone seeing Jay's number on the screen. Raising a brow, Kaylin answers it. "Jay?"

"Do you remember that case we took on a few weeks ago?"

"Ah, yeah?" Kaylin stands up and walks into the kitchen while Noah kept playing. "What's up? Did you get something?"

"We have another victim with the same M.O, Kay." Kaylin's eyes widen lightly as she turns to look at Noah who was playing his game. "Whoever these botched BX6s people are. They're dangerous, this girl was in worse shape than Amana was. We need to keep our guard up anytime we go anywhere."

"Makes sense..." Kaylin whispers. "I'll keep my gun near me. I'll lock the doors. Luckily this house doesn't have a lot of windows in the living-room and kitchen."

She could just hear and feel Jay nod through the phone. "Stay safe. I love you."

"I love you, too Jay." Kaylin hangs up the phone and grabs her gun near the door and walks to the end of her couch and set it down in the nightstand's drawer she had near the couch, and she sat down. "Alright, Noah, few more games and then we're gonna cook dinner. What sounds good?"

"Can we have pork chops with green beans and mashed potatoes?"

Kaylin smiles and nods. "I don't see why not, Noah," Kaylin tells him and they both continue to play the game. A knock came five minutes later, Kaylin looks at the door and frowns, grabbing her phone from her pocket to look at cameras that her and Jay had installed. Seeing two people there, something didn't feel right with this situation. Getting up while putting her phone back in her pocket and grabs her gun putting it in her back part of her pants. Then, Kaylin looks through the peep hole when she makes it to the door, sees someone covering it. Kaylin turns to Noah, putting a finger to her lips to indicate him to be quiet. "Noah, I need you to go too my room and hide in the bathroom, don't come out until I tell you too. Understand?"

Noah nods, putting down the controller while quietly and quickly running to her room and into the bathroom. "Who is it?"

"Police ma'am, we need you to open the door."

Kaylin was sure Jay got the notification on his phone on who was at the door. Kaylin frowns and pinches her lips. She then pulls out her phone, calling Hank and puts the phone back in her pocket, hopefully he will hear the conversation.

"What's this about?"

"It's regarding a call that we received here about a noise complaint."

Kaylin grabs her gun and puts it down to her side and slowly unlocks the door. Then, the door bursts open and the next thing she hears is gunshots coming from her gun and theirs.

"Kaylin!!" Jay calls getting out of his vehicle and rushing up to the house. "Kaylin!!"

"I'm fine, Jay." Kaylin calls from the ambulance beside him. Jay looks over seeing her and Noah sitting there with Aina treating a heat burn on her cheek. Jay rushes up and touches her other cheek and looks at her all around. "Me and Noah are fine."

"What the hell happened?"

"Two guys showed up at our door and then started shooting."

"Why did you open the door...?"

Kaylin shrugs. "Figured they would not be idiots and attack a police-officer's home." Kaylin joked with a chuckle.  "Noah did a good job listening that I told him we would go get ice cream once I'm patched up."

"If she didn't Jay, we wouldn't have the two assholes in custody." Hank stuck up for Kaylin as Jay turns around seeing Hank walk to him. Jay watches stand by his side. "I say she did a pretty good job. Albeit it was stupid. But it worked. We're gonna go interrogate them and hopefully get some answers." Hank turns to Kaylin and touches her head. "Good job, Kay. We will see you in a week."

"Keep me posted?"

"Always," Hank smiles and walks off.

Aina chuckles. "Well, you're good to go, Kay. Don't get into any more trouble. Especially with this little cutie with you." She pinches Noah's cheek making him giggle.

"Thank you, Ai." Kaylin said getting up off the back of the ambulance and grabbing Noah and putting him down. "You did a great job, Noah." Kaylin picks him up again and hugs him while he hugs her back. "Don't tell mom..."

"You got it," Noah chuckles a little bit.

Jay hugs her and Noah while Kaylin leans her head on his shoulder while he rests his head on hers. Noah smiles hugging them both.

What an interesting day...
