Lived in Bodies

What do you see

she asked of me

when these words

you write

Dolly Parton

Mischa Barton

or some other

fashion plate

No my dear,

what I see here

a body lived in well

A woman real

against her will

thinks that she is flawed

Scars and age

mark the page

that on your

life is writ

I know full well

and gladly tell

 the image in

my head

Bags and sags

and baby marks

make a worn in

shoe

With no marks

I strike no sparks

the new shoes

pinch my toes

The words I write

should give no fright

I know of where

I speak

Real men love

Real women

and that's my

final say
