Everything settled in Nevermore after the hyde's capture. Miss Thornhill miraculously survived Eugene's bees and my violent kick; yet she would've been better off dead, as she is never to see the light of day again.
A new semester started after months of dreadful peace, and I am to return to Nevermore by nightfall. Pugsley detested this fact, of course, and insisted we spend the day together; to which I begrudgingly agreed. Spending the day with him eased my nerves, though I couldn't quite comprehend why I was filled with such emotion. My heart's pounding seemed to be getting louder as the clock neared sunset; and for whatever reason, Enid clouded my mind.
I'm going to see her again.
Whenever I was reminded of this fact, my heart would jump. It was like electric shock therapy, but it was also a new emotion to which I was foreign.
"You must be excited to go," Pugsley's voice grounded me. "The blank expression on your face says it all."
I raise a brow at him. "I am, in fact," my voice came out a mumble. "I think I'm also nervous. It's a weird feeling."
I watched as he rummaged through our bag to take out a hand grenade, after which he pulled the pin and immediately hurled it into the lake. An explosion vibrated quickly after, spraying water on the bridge we sat on.
"Is it because of a boy?"
"What? No." A girl, in fact. But I was not about to let my brother know a friend, a good friend I made, whom I had hugged for the first time, had been on my mind since the previous semester ended.
"So, you're just excited for school then?"
"I suppose."
We then sat quietly, watching as the sun slowly descended. My mind slowly wandered. One thing I most thought about during the past few months, even now, was the hug Enid and I shared after the battle was over. How I gave in to her embrace once I saw the look on her face; pure happiness I was okay, I assume. Actually, not only did I give in, I was the one to hug her, to melt into her arms. She brought out a version of me that was foreign even to myself.

Hey hey. This is just the prologue to a fic I've planned. Do let me know if you want to read more and I shall deliver! Also, remember to be respectful and realize the actresses in the show Wednesday are real people, with very real feelings. The purpose of this fanfiction is not to ship the actresses themselves but the characters they play, and merely for entertainment purposes.
Anyway, thank you, and see you soon!
