Chapter Three

"Henrik get your head back with us. What's wrong with you? You have been really distracted since you got here."

Henrik quickly apologized to his CFO and listened in on the rest of the meeting. He had been thinking about the conversation he had had with Juniper. It hadn't been much but he had been ecstatic when he had gotten the first message. He had sent some of his security detail to help her move and he was now waiting to hear back from them. It was nearing lunch time and he hoped he would hear from them soon. Hearing his phone buzz, Henrik looked down to see that he had a message to call his head of security at his earliest convince. As soon as the meeting ended here quickly made his his way to the office. He made a quick stop at his secretary's desk.

"Anne?'

"Yes Mr James, how can I help you?"

I need you to hold all my calls for the next hour."

"Yes sir."

Quickly walking into his office, Henrik picked up his cell and called Dwayne who was his head of security. 

"Hello?'

"Dwayne it's me."

'Oh. Mr James. Ms. Juniper has been moved into the executive apartment at the building downtown and I have increased the security to the building. I also added more men who wi lol be providing her security."

"Why did you have to do that? Did something happen and do they know not to let her know they are protecting her?'

"When we showed up at her house we found the same man from last trying to break down the front door. We had shown up just in time because he had the door almost completely broken down. We found Ms. Juniper in tears and very frightened. I increased security because I don't think this is over and am almost positive this man followed us downtown."

"Shit!"

"I agree. She is the in safest place for her at the moment. The safest place would be next to you but I understand that can't be possible at the moment. I did have all security detail sign NDAs. Is there anything else I can assist with at this time?"

"No. Thank you." Hanging up, Henrik opened his messaging app and sent a message off to Juniper.

F: how are you doing......I heard what happened this morning

J: I am ok....your men got there just in time.....I honestly though he was going to kill me 

F: I am glad you are ok....what did you decide to do about your job

J: I called after I got moved and quit.....I generally worked most of my shifts alone and didn't think it would be safe to go back.....just have to find something new now

F: why?

J: I need to pay for my bills and some how give you so me thing for rent on this beautiful apartment you gave me to use

F: I don't want any rent or money from you in any way.....I just w ant to be a friend helping a friend in need....I also may have a job if you really want one

J: are you sure and what would the job be

F: I am and tomorrow I want you to go to The James Building and go to the executive floor and ask to speak to Anne Brown.....she will have a job waiting on you......it wi lol be a full ti me job but you would have enough down time that you would still be able to write

J: thank you

F: you are more than welcome.....I need to get back to work now but I can I message you later?

J: yes....goodbye

Smiling to himself, Henrik got back to work and finalized plans for the job he was going to give to Juniper. He was excite about the opportunity of seeing her everyday but didn't know how he was going to not tell her who he was. He wanted her to get to know him before she found out anything else.  Henrik buzzed Anne and asked him to come into his office.

"What can I help you with sir?"

"I have someone coming tomorrow named Juniper Lyons. She will be asking to speak with you. I have temporarily hired her to be your assistant and I want you to give her the same salary of entry level secretary would get."

"May I ask why?"

"She is someone very close to me that I am able to talk to and she doesn't know who I really am. She is someone I can be myself with. I did this because she was attacked at her home this morning by her former fiancée and had to quit her job because he knew where  she worked. Here we have security."

"I understand sir and congratulations."

"Congratulations?"

"Yes, on finding your one." With that Anne smiled and walked out the door.

Henrik could only laugh and silently agree with her. He was going to marry Juniper one day. At the age of 45 his priorities had finally changed. His business was no longer the most important thing in his life anymore. Juniper was and he could only pray that she wouldn't mind the 22 year age gap. Even if she couldn't there would never be anyone else for him. He would spend the rest of his life making sure she was taken care of. At the moment he heard Anne raising her voice and trying to stop someone from coming into his office. Before he could even stand up from his chair the bane of his existence burst thru his office door.

"Henrik, my love, I am here for you to take me for a late lunch."

"You were told to never come here again. Get the hell out of my office."

"Henrik how dare you speak to me like that. We are meant to be together and I have already told my father that he would soon be able to walk me down the aisle."

"I will speak to you in the way that you deserve. I will never marry your for two reason. First is because we have never even dated and I never wanted to date you."

"We have dated. We went to all those social engagements together and everyone co mmented on how good we looked together.

"No we did not. Those just happened to events we both attended and I got stuck at a table wi th your family. The second reason is because I will never marry a gold-digging leech. Your are also nothing but a bitch. Ms. Franks, you are never to step back foot into this building because the day that you do I will have you arrested for trespassing. NOW GET THE HELL OUT OF MY OFFICE."
