Kellin's POV
He was a hitchhiker. I had picked him up on 101.
He jogged over to the passenger side and hopped in. "Thank you so much." He says. His medium brown hair trailing down his face.
I smile. "I don't usually pick up hitchhikers. Your lucky today." I say softly.
He looks at me, taking in my features as I start the engine again and head off. "I suppose I am." He says while putting his backpack on the ground next to his feet.
"Where you headed?" I asked.
He shrugs. "I don't have a destination. I'm just going where life takes me." He says.
I smile. "That's the way to do it. I'm headed to L.A." I say.
He chuckles. "Sounds great." He says. There's a moment of comfortable silence.
I glance over at the stranger in my passenger seat and he's fast asleep. Must of been walking for a while. I'll let him sleep.

"Dude wake up." I shake the stranger. His eyes open slowly as he adjusts to the light.
He smiles as he hopped out of my truck and walks a few steps. He twirls around in the city light with a big smile on his face. "L.A BABY!" He yells at the world. I can't resist the smile on my face as I watch the overjoyed Mexican.
I walk up to him at hand him his bag. "Wanna catch a cup of coffee with me?" I ask, not wanting to leave him yet. There's just something about this boy that makes me want to get to know him.
He nods. "Sure." He says and slips on a pair of sunglasses that he pulls out of his bag due to the overly bright sun.
We walk side by side to a little coffee shop that's down the street from my apartment. "I never caught your name." He says as we find a little table to sit at.
I smile. "I'm Kellin Quinn." I say.
"I'm Vic Fuentes." He says back.
The waitress comes and takes our orders. We make small talk as we wait for our coffee. "So what made you move to L.A?" He asks.
I chuckle a little. "Well I don't know..I just wanted to get away from the small town I grew up in and into the big city." I say.
He smiles. "Cute." He says. I was about to question his comment but our drinks arrived. "Thanks." We say to the waitress.
When we finish our coffee we head back to my place. "Would you like to come in?" I ask him. He smiles and nods. We walk in and he looks around. "Make yourself at home." I say and go to my bedroom to check on my dog, Chewy.
When I walk out Vic had my headphones on while listening to music. He turns around when he notices me and takes them off. "He's good. Who is he?" He asks.
I blush a little. "It's me." I say softly.
He chuckles. " love your voice. I do a bit of singing myself." He says and smiles at me. "Nothing big though. I don't have any albums or anything." He sighs. "I suppose I should get going. I have to go check into a hotel I guess." He says and pulls his bag into his back.
For some reason I don't want him to leave. "Actually, you can stay here if you want. I was thinking about renting out my spare room. The first month is on me." I say with a smile.
He grins back at me. "Thank you so much. That is such a big help." He says and grabs my hand and holds it for a while. For some reason I can't get myself to pull away.
I feel something.
