these three had to be the best rivals in the prophecies begin. i really liked their story and how it played out. these three seemed to have no reason yet every reason to hate one another. i know that darkstripe hated firestar for being a kittypet, just like longtail did at first. tigerstar, however, was different. (i once saw a theory that the reason tigerstar hated firestar so much is because he reminded him of his father, pinestar, but i have no idea if that's actually true. if i do find out, this section will be edited.)

i have read into it, and i found out everything i think i needed to know about this. pinestar was a leader for a long time. he served thunderclan before sunstar. but, he found jake, a kittypet (firestar's father) and made friends with him. he ended up not knowing where his loyalties were, and loved being across his clan's borders more than being with his family. his choice brought him to leave thunderclan altogether, and be a kittypet. when rusty joined the clan and tigerclaw found out he was a kittypet, he was obviously still upset that pinestar had left him and his mother, just to be a housecat. he felt so angry that bluestar knew about pinestar, yet still let a kittypet join the clan because of the "displayed fierceness and courage he had while fighting against graypaw." i now understand why tigerclaw felt upset and mad about firestar, and he has every right to be. however, i don't think tigerclaw needed to go into brambleclaw and hawkfrost's dreams to tell them "hey i need you guys to KILL firestar he ruined my life." (glad brambleclaw decided to kill hawkfrost and avoid losing his leader. i love the fact that at that moment he decided "y'know i love firestar and he's been such a great leader to me maybe i shouldn't kill him!!" and ended up killing his half brother LOL.)
i used to like darkstripe because he was edgy and cool, but then he killed stonefur and all of my respect died out. sure, we didn't know much about stonefur because he was a riverclanner, so what!! he was still a cool character tbh. (i can only imagine how bluestar felt seeing the very cat who sat over her body and carried her back to her clan when she died, her son, appear in starclan. i don't think she'd be disappointed, just shocked. she'd feel worse knowing how he got there i feel.) i can tell mistyfoot was utterly distraught when she saw that he was actually dead, and that just hurts tbh. anyways, this is not about stonefur, we're talking about the bitch boys.
tigerstar was just a mega asshole and im glad that scourge taught him a lesson. (though i don't think even tigerstar deserved to die nine times but whatever....) i love how even firestar, the cat who revealed his murder of redtail and wanted to get revenge himself by attacking him, felt like he didn't deserve such a brutal death. firestar was one of the most affected by tigerstar while he was in thunderclan (besides ravenpaw), yet he believed that he didn't deserve to die like that. firestar, who watched tigerstar lure cinderpaw to the thunderpath, believed he did not deserve to die like that. firestar believed that no matter how many awful things tigerstar ever did, he did not have to die by getting his throat sliced open, he did not not have to die nine times. tbh, firestar thinking that means so much to me. i also can imagine how darkstripe felt. tigerstar seemed to be the only one darkstripe ever talked with, so when he died he lost basically everything and decided to go live off on his own. he had lost the only leader he'd ever truly wanted, and lost the one cat he knew would listen to him.
