"Uhh, what--?!"

"--The fuck?!" Pico finishes your sentence, following you inside.

The rest of the group is standing in front of you, bewildered. Beyond them, the entire lobby is devoid of life.

"I-I don't understand!" Senpai freaks out dramatically.

The silence is deafening, the front desk is deserted, and suitcases and luggage carts lie unattended. On a table, a half-finished wine glass gathers dust.

"WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYBODY?!"

*flashback*

You trip over, steadying yourself against Pico's shoulder.

"C'mon, (N/N). You're already trippin' balls, don't make yourself get a concussion too." The latter teases you as you both walk alongside Darnell and Nene on a Halloween night.

"Aye, lay off ginger-dick! Darnell's the one who brought shrooms over!" You retort, gripping his hand with your brows furrowed.

"The stars are fallin' from the sky right now." Nene slurs. It was obvious that by now, every single one of you was tripping badly from the hallucinating drug.

"Aight, we gotta pick up the pace a 'lil." Darnell chuckles along with the ginger.

"Wait- WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!?" You point in the far distance.

"Uhhh, shit. I-I'm probably just trippin' but, it looks like zombies running up to us at full speed?" Pico squints his eyes into the distance, explaining in confusion that he sees exactly what everyone else sees.

"Oh, yeah yeah yeah. I see it too!" Darnell agrees.

"Same," Nene adds.

Everyone looks at one another, all muttering in panicked unison.

"Run!"

Everyone books it back to Darnell's. No one even daring to look over their shoulder as you grip Pico's hand tighter, adrenaline pumping through your veins as your paranoia sinks in.

"𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙨. 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚."

Pico's POV

"I mean, HELLO?!" Ayana rings the desk bell once more.

The group wanders the lobby of The Mirage, still not a soul in sight.

"This'll make for one weird-ass Yelp review." Keith beeps in sarcasm.

"The staff knew we were coming this week, right? This is extremely sus." I nod my head in agreement.

"At least the booze is still here!" Agoti yells out from behind the bar, grinning.

"Who's up for a Mai Tai?" I roll my eyes as Keith makes a beeline for the bar. Meanwhile, (Y/N) picks up a half-empty wine glass sitting beside a lounge chair.
