As soon as I heard about Hoshi-onee-sama's power, I had to know if she truly loved me, or if she was using me. Some way or another, I would have to find out. Even if I needed to throw away everything I held dear, I strengthened my resolve to confront my onee-sama.
"Yumiya-san, I know you want a guard for me, and I respect that will. However, I can't have a guard with me every waking moment. I still live with Hoshi-onee-sama, and I plan on living there until I figure out if she truly is my ally." I explained what I would try to do to ascertain her feelings.
"Tsukki, you still want to believe in Hoshi?" Taiyou observed.
"I have to! She brought me out of that damn Kusari estate, and I owe her for taking care of me." I told him.
"Even if it's a lie?" Yumiya asked distraughtly.
"That's why I'm going back: to see how she really feels." I stated as I started to walk towards the door.
"If you insist on going down this path, you'll die..." Taiyou whined.
I stopped in my tracks and looked back as I touched the knob. The words I wanted to say came out before I even knew what I was doing.
"I won't, since I have you guys by my side. And besides, since I have been living a lie, doesn't that mean I'm dead already?" I smiled wryly.
Then, without giving them a chance to reply, I ran out of Taiyou's room, through the halls which I traversed with Teko and Taiyou. And somehow, I knew the way out of the estate, so I didn't talk to anyone as I ran to my house.
By the time I ran to the house that Hoshi-onee-sama and I lived in, I fell to my knees out of exhaustion. I hadn't panted as much I did that day ever before. But I had to ascertain my onee-sama's true feelings. Did she love me, or hate me?
I stood up soon after I fell to my knees. However, I noticed something in the driveway: a car. Hoshi-onee-sama didn't own a car like the one before my eyes. Yet, it was familiar.
I ran to the light blue car. It looked like it hadn't been used in so long. And that's when I remembered: it was Otou-sama's car!
Was he already reconstructed? No, more importantly, how did he know this was where we lived? The only ones who knew were me and Hoshi-onee-sama!
"Oh no..." I moaned.
Did this mean that Onee-sama really sold me out? As I contemplated this, I heard some people talking from the house.
I tiptoed a little closer and saw Otou-sama, Gin, and Hoshi-onee-sama talking in the living room. I started to eavesdrop.
"I told you two, I'm not going to go along with your plan! She's still a high school student!"
"I thought you of all people would realize why I'm doing this! You were supposed to inherit the Moon Power, not that wench!" Gin yelled.
Huh? Onee-sama was supposed to...? I started thinking.
"I don't care. That power only brings destruction. Look at how you two are trying to kill Tsuki!"
"It's for the good of the people." Otou-sama said.
"No, you two just want the power for yourself. I read The Tale of Two Powers and your entry last night." Hoshi folded her arms and scoffed.
Last night? I asked myself. The only ones who were there were...!
"You bitch! Did you really see that entry?!" Otou-sama screamed.
"Tsuki saw it, too! She probably already knows about my power, too. After the blunder I made last night..." Her arms still folded, Onee-sama looked sad.
"I knew it! You're using Concealment to keep watch on Tsuki!" Gin deducted.
"Yes. I'm protecting her from the likes of you bastards." Hoshi-onee-sama started walking away.
I held my mouth to keep myself from crying. She really didn't betray me! Kusari Hoshi is truly my Onee-sama! But, why does she know all this?
Then, I noticed something horrifying: Gin pulled out a pocket knife from his pocket.
"NO! RUN, ONEE-SAMA!" I yelled through the window glass.
Hoshi-onee-sama looked straight at me, but it was too late. She was stabbed in the chest, and fell to the ground.
I burst through the window and ran straight towards her, but someone grabbed my hair.
"Now that you know the truth, I'll kill you." It was Otou-sama who grabbed me and whispered that in my ear.
"No, let me treat Onee-sama! I can't let her die!" I yelled through tears.
"I never thought you would get attached to someone other than Sora Taiyou. Whatever. It's her fault for trying to defy us." Otou-sama smirked evilly.
It was then I felt something break in myself. I took my contracted sword and stabbed my father in the heart.
"You're not my otou-sama, you bastard! I'll kill you over and over again until you can no longer come back!" I declared angrily and through tears.
I removed my blade from my father's chest and he fell.
"Mizuo! You bitch!" Gin screamed as he lunged forward.
I glared at Gin, then moved behind him and put the sword to his neck.
"Yeah, I'm a bitch. But at least I'm not as twisted and cruel as you two!" I yelled.
Then, I decapitated him. Blood spewed everywhere.
I ran to Onee-sama in the rain of blood. She had her eyes closed and was barely breathing.
"Onee-sama! Please... please wake up!" I held her up as I pleaded with her.
She opened her eyes, and coughed up blood.
"Don't worry... the wound isn't as deep as it seems. Thank you for killing my father. This way I know you'll be OK." She smiled weakly.
"Onee-sama..." I hugged her, and she hugged me back.
"I'm sorry for doubting you... I heard from Yumiya-san that you use Concealment, and I wanted to truly know if you were on my side." I admitted.
"You... knew? You knew that I was Senaka Teko?" Onee-sama dropped this bombshell as if it were nothing.
"...What?" I tilted my head.
"Oh, boy..." She facepalmed.
