Chapter 6

Chapter 6 

I wake in the morning to the smell of most likely the best breakfasts ever. I wonder what the special occasion is when Mom and Dad walk in carrying three presents. They are followed by Matt, Tori, Charlotte and Ty who are carrying a present each.

“Oh my god I totally forgot! You shouldn’t have gotten me so much! Really!” I demand. I have forgotten all about my eighteenth birthday.

“Oh stop overreacting! Your 18!” Tori exclaims. “Me first!” she insists.

I sit up in my bed and take the present from her. When I open the small

box I find a pair of beautiful pearl earrings.

“Tori! They’re beautiful! Thank you!” I thank her as I reach to hug her.

“I was going to get you a dress but.....” she jokes with a grin.

“Me next.” Charlotte says.

I pull away the blue and green tissue paper and inside the gift bag is a pair of black combat boots!

“Oh my god Charlotte! These are perfect! Thank you!” I exclaim and reach to hug her. They are just my size.

“I thought you might need some while we’re training.” she suggests with a smile.

“My turn I guess.” Ty says.

I take a small box from him and take of the top. Inside is a silver charm bracelet with three charms already hanging from it. One is a house, the next is a plant, and the last is a dagger. I look at him with amazed and thankful eyes.

“Oh my god Ty. This is amazing! I can’t believe this. Thank you. ” I tell him. I know right away what each charm symbolizes. The house symbolizing my new life here, the plant symbolizing myy ability, and the dagger symbolizing being chosen by a dagger and my LightSinger.

“I’m glad you like it. I know a place we can get more charms when you want.” he says as I hug him.

“My turn.” Matt announces as I grab a small bag from him.

When I move away the Tissue paper I find a necklace. The necklace is a circle with the message ‘ always in my heart - Matt ‘ engraved around the edge of the circle.

“Matt” I say breathless “I can’t believe this. You don’t know what this means to me. Thank you.” I make sure he knows.

I give him a quick kiss before my parents hand me the first present. The medium sizd boxed contains a belt with a spot to hold something in.

“It’s for your ddagger so you can have it with you at all times.” my dad tells me.

“Perfect! Thanks guys” I say before they hand me the next box.

I tear the wrapping paper off and find a car key in my hand.

“Why did you-.... OH MY GOD! Did you get me a car?!” I ask shocked. By the look on their faces I know I am correct.

“Oh my god! you did not!” I scream jumping out of bed pulling them into an embrace.

“Let me get dressed and I’ll go see it.” I tell them pushing everyone out of the room.

I quickly put on a sliding back white tank top, dark blue skinny jeans, my combat boots, my charm bracelet, my necklace, my earrings, and my makeup and rush out the door to the front. When I exit the doors I spot the most amazing car I’ve ever seen. The old edition mustang. I dart to the car and gape at it in amazement. I hug my parents once again before they remind me about my third present. They hand me an old hey about two inches big.
