The Thousand year curse of a Ninetails

The last goodbye

As the morning sun fell and the moon slowly awoke in the night sky, Clover and JR started to wake up and embark on their journey to the town, but they had to be quick and hope they could get there before morning.
"Are you sure mom and grandpa won't know it's me?"
"Yes," Clover said sadly "I wish I could do something about it but I can't."
"How long will it be until we're there?"
"A long time," Clover laid down on the ground for a moment "get on my back and I'll carry you there and back."
"Oh okay." JR climbed on Clovers back and she started to walk towards the village.
"I can't do this too often you know. You must learn how to be the guardian of this town before--" clovers voice trailed off. She didn't want to make him any sadder than he already was and make sure he'd be able to get through his training before it happened.
"Before what?"
"I'll tell you later dear."
They slowly approached the village.
"Hold on. I'll sit on your roof and wait for you. Not too long okay?"
"Oh alright."
"Hold on."
Clover took a flying leap in the air and jumped from the roof of one house to another. So graceful and quiet she was as she leaped. With every jump made Clovers tails moved with the wind and shimmered bright in the light of the full moon. As she came to a slow stop she picked up JR by his little furry neck with her mouth the get him off of her back and then gently placed him down on the red tiled roof.
"Remember what I told you," Clover said quietly. "You MUST be very careful. Your a Vulpix. Your a fire type, with powers you can't control yet. "
"I know I remember, can I go inside now?!" JR said with an unusual tone. He sounded happy to be able to see his family but it was easy to see in his big brown eyes that he was sad. He didn't want to leave his family without any warning. he didn't want to leave at all. But he knew that that Clover would take care of him and stay with him. And maybe he'd get to visit them more often and get to see them all.
"Yes. Go in. I'll call for you when it time for you to come out."
"Alright." JR climbed into the house through an open window. As he walked on the wooden floor his paw were silent. He looked all around saying goodbye to every little thing in the house. He walked up to his mothers room and started to enter her room but stopped to see that she was awake and crying at the little shrine in her room with candles lit all around. JR sat by the door and listened to what his mother was saying.
"Oh Ninetails please hear me! My son has gone missing and I don't know where he is, nobody dose. If he could be brought back safely to me, my family and their generations to come would give you all of our offerings and blessings. Just bring back my son." His mother said crying. But slowly she got up and blew the candles out and went to bed. JR knew that Clover might be upset but he went into his mothers room and blew gently on the wick of a candle. He left a sign for her that he was alright and hopped she'd know that things would be okay. He slowly left the room and went looking for his grandpa. He found him sleeping in his room. JR did the same with his grandfather. He blew softly on the wick of the candle by his little shrine and left the room. Outside he heard Clover let out a great howl for him so he convinced himself to get up and go out. JR walked through the house one last time and the climbed out the window in which he came in from.
"Alright Clover," he said with a tear running down the side of his face, down his muzzle and hitting the red tiled roof.
"Let's go back to the cave."
Clover wiped the tear away from JR's face. "It's going to be okay," she said in a soft soothing voice. "We can come back again soon."
"Really?! I can?"
"Yes we can come back one day soon. "
"Yay!"
"Come on. The sun is rising, we have to get home fast."
"Okay. I'll race you home!" JR shouted as he jumped off the roof and started to run back to the cave.
"I'll beat you there!" Clover shouted and ran after him. As they ran there tails flowed in the breeze and their fur sparkled and shined in the morning sunlight that slowly rose. As they ran they jumped over rocks and fallen trees landing gracefully on their paws. JR ran and touched the cave with Clover behind him.
"I win, I win!" JR shouted.
"I guess you did. Now you stay here in the cave. I have some things to take care of. Go to sleep and rest. We will train at night."
"Oh okay." JR said lying down and resting and falling asleep slowly.Clover backed up from the cave and started to stare. Her eyes glowed a bright purple. A mysterious light purple aura sounded the cave and Clover stepped in.
"I put up a barrier to keep you safe and hidden. Only we can see the aura that is around the cave. As long as you stay inside of it, nobody can hurt you. No trainers or predators." She spoke to him through her mind. "You'll hear this once you've awoken. I will return soon." Clover said and left, to leave JR in the cave hopping he will have a good rest and be happy when he wakes up.
