SHAELYN
I walked through the door to the big audition hall filled with bunch of people. People sitting, walking, discussing, practicing, laughing in small groups. Groups, every first-year student wants to be a part of when they enter the university. Groups, that hangouts with you, that teases you or insults you and then laugh harder when you insult them back. Groups, that makes you feel like you belong to somewhere.
Fortunately, I'm a third-year student with highly mismatched subjects and a clueless aim for future having no hope for real friendships at all. The only thing pushing me through life was life itself. Go Gal!
This morning, when Miss. Wann announced the annual parade, I felt both happy and nervous at the same time with the thought that it's good to participate and finally getting an opportunity to do something interesting I wanted to do for a long time. But on the other hand, something was holding me back. Like a voice that said, "I'm not stopping you but, will you be able to do it?"
I was hesitant and almost denied the idea of showing off my unprofessional skill in my head when suddenly, A girl with ash brunette hair wearing nude slink back heels hurriedly left her seat and walked to me, banged a blank paper consisting loads of questions and spaces to fill (which I assume is a participation form) on the table, smirked and winked and said, "see you at the auditions."
And just like that she walked away.
What was that??
Never in the past two years, she ever tried talking to me. Not when we accidently sat together because I was late for the class and the only empty seat was beside her, not when we were project partners, not even when we were standing under the shade because none of us had umbrellas.
That wasn't our fault, the weather was forecasted to be sunny. And it was sunny even when it was raining so heavily making every raindrop shine so bright. So, I automatically took out my Canon and started taking pictures. Soon after a while, when her friend came to her with a red and a navy-blue umbrella, she passed me one out of humanity and walked away with her copper brown haired friend under that red polka dot parasol in that beautiful rainy sunset. Making her seem like some graceful lady in a breathtaking painting. Making me not being able to restrain taking a picture of this beautiful alive painting.
I sighed and decided to give it a go.
As I moved towards Cady, I noticed him. Cady looked half mad and half her sweet-bossy self, in a process of talking through her friend.
I was almost standing behind his back only to find him showing off his bulged arm in the air as if he is a real superman, just in a black t-shirt. He is talking to Cady about something probably making faces I can't see right now. I can only see his back. Though I could clearly see his copper brown hair escaping from his black baseball cap. His grey tiny bag hung from the other side begging to fall.
Talk about perfect sculptures.
"Yes. That's what I want to hear. Not your n-" She trailed off, seeing me walking towards her and her friend she was talking to and the friend I didn't know the name of. I swear he turned his head 6'o clock like an owl and our eyes met. Eyes, as dark as a raven's feather.
Oh! Thunderous heart!
"Hey!" I greeted both almost finishing my walk.
"Hey Shaelyn. Welcome to the team." Cady happily chirped, making room for me beside her.
"Thanks." I awkwardly replied, making myself trying to be comfortable on the bench across from him. It would seem rude right? If I don't greet her friend too? So, I faced him and flashed a big toothy smile.
Not that big you idiot!
"Hey." I finally said.
He nodded in reply. He nodded??????
