"Here is your funfetti cake with strawberry frosting." I handed over the Cars themed cake to the lady. I lifted the lid for her to see it to make sure it was what she wanted. George had done such a good job decorating it, I was half tempted to ask for one myself.

"It's perfect!" I grinned widely at her. "Thank you so much."

"Of course. Hope he enjoys it." I handed the box over to her. With only two other people at the front I left Edith to take their orders and headed for the back. It was just us two today so I was manning the back while she did the front.

The last three days have been crazy busy. I thought we'd at least have a few days to start getting ready for the crowds but Tuesday morning when we opened the doors there was already a line. Now it was Thursday and things were just as busy.

Our online orders had increased big time but thankfully a good chunk of them were either big batches of cookies or not needed for another week. But even knowing that I still felt the stress starting to build.

With someone else coming in for an order in an hour and a half I didn't let myself focus on anything but baking. Rolling up my sleeves I got to work.

Three hours later and countless amount of orders, we were finally about to close the doors. I sent Edith home about ten minutes ago and was about to start cleaning up. The kitchen looked like something exploded in it. It would probably take me a good hour to clean everything up before I could head home.

Ah the joy of being the boss.

With an aching back I got to work on grabbing the left over goods in the front cases. There wasn't too much but enough for me to donate to the local shelter. Another thing I learned from Colleen. There wasn't really a way to save the desserts for the next day and I couldn't keep them all to myself.

Anyway to help someone, especially this time of year, I was going to do it. Aside from the local shelter I liked to give stuff to the Fire and Police, the schools, the VA that helped military. Since we were basically opened everyday but Sunday's there was plenty of food to be given.

Once I put all the pies, cookies, buns, cakes, cupcakes, basically everything you could think of into boxes I was ready to tackle cleaning. I was in the middle of grabbing cleaner to start on the front when the familiar chime of the door echoed through the empty store.

"Sorry, we are closed." I called out. I waited for some sort of response but got none. The fact that I was here alone wasn't lost on me. It could be someone coming in to try and steal. That thought alone sent a wave of fear over me.

When I first opened this place my brother made sure I had something to defend myself with but I wasn't anywhere close to the secret gun he had stashed or any knives. Grabbing the first thing next to me I slowly edged towards the doorway leading to the front.

Like hell I was going to let someone steal or break anything in my store. Not on my watch.

With a whisk in hand I shuffled closer. I heard the sound of shuffling feet. Someone was definitely here. My hands were shaking but I wasn't about to stay back here and hide. My brother taught me to fight in case I ever needed it...guess it looks like the day has come.

You got this Liv. Beat the guys ass. Show him who's bakery he just broke into.

After my little mental talk I took a deep breath. Here goes nothing. Instead of going the 'quiet and sneak up on them' attempted, I was just going to go barging out there. With one final nod to myself I pushed away from the door and ran towards the front. Whisk held high.

"AHH!" My high pitch squeal echoed around the shop as I ran, ready to defend my store to the end.

"What the fu-" A familiar voice hit my ears as I came barreling towards the counter. Somehow the voice registered quick enough before I launched myself over the counter. Although that would have been super badass.

I stood there with my whisk held high above my head as I gaped at the figure in my shop. I would recognize that muscular frame anywhere.

"What the hell Logan! I thought you were a burglar."

"And you were going to kill me with a," He looked at my hand and back to my face. "A whisk?"

"It was the first thing I grabbed okay." I huffed bringing it down to my side. At the time I didn't think, I just grabbed. But who knows a whisk could do some damage. It can have hard edges and hurts when hit just right.

"You could have at least said something. Scared me half to death." I pressed a hand to my racing chest.

"What are you doing here alone?" Logan ignored what I said and looked around. "You need to lock that door so no one comes in and tries to do anything." I couldn't hold back an eye roll.

"I was literally just about to lock it when you came in and surprised me."

"Olivia, you need to be more careful. Being here alone at night isn't smart." Logan started his lecture. The same one my brother gave me almost every week.

"Okay thanks dad." I shot back sarcastically.

"I'm being serious. Its dark outside and snowing, who knows what kind of person would come in here. It isn't safe." His words were starting to piss me off. I already had one over-protective and over bearing brother, I didn't need Logan on top of that.

"What are you doing here Logan?" I interrupted him, placing my hands on my hips. I was a grown ass woman and I didn't need him coming in here and giving me a lecture.

I hadn't seen or heard anything about Logan since the dinner at my brothers house a few nights ago. I've been working non-stop to even think about him and whether he left or not.

"I was driving by and saw your bakery. Wanted to come see what it was like." He put his hands in his pockets and looked around. The way he said it put out the anger that had been building in my stomach. "But you are cleaning up so I'll just." He nodded his head for the door.

"Do you want something?" The words left my mouth before I could think. Something in me didn't want him to leave. Not yet.

His eyes roamed over my face as if contemplated his answer but I knew by the way he took a step forward that he was going to stay.

"Need help with anything?"

A part of me thinks it would be so cool to own a bakery or like a coffee shop/bookstore. It would be cool to have a bookstore and a small coffee shop where people can come in and read, work, enjoy the coffee. Wish my small town had something like that so I could go write there. If only :D
