"Welcome to the Cat Boy Cafe. how can I help you?" Ezra asked flatly. Chrissy looked over the menu considering her options. Ezra shifted on his feet. His fluffy white tail flicked back and forth as he waited on the girl buried in the menu. She didn't make a move to add anything. "Would you like some suggestions to make this visit purr-fect?" He asked as straightforwardly as he could manage with the pun.
Chrissy looked up. Her eyebrows knit together as she eyed him and then the rest of the cafe. "Where are all the cats?"
Ezra blinked. "Is this your first time at the cafe?"
"Yes. How is this a cat cafe with no cats?" Chrissy pouted. Ezra sighed.
"It's a Cat Boy Cafe. See?" He flicked the fluffy cat ears on top of his head. They twitched at movement."Sorry to disappoint you ma'am."
"But, I wanted to pet some cats." Chrissy complained.
"I could get Sammy to wait on you. He is our English Longhair, and he's very friendly." Before Chrissy could argue, Ezra turned to one of the other waiters. "Hey Sammy! This young lady wants to pet a cat!"
In a flash, a short redheaded boy rushed to their table, skidding to a stop right before crashing into the table. The bell around his neck jingled wildly as he bounced up. He stood up mock straight and saluted, his fluffy hair settling right in his face. He huffed and blew the hair out of his face.
"Sammy reporting for pets, sir! Mew!"
"Sammy can help you with that." Ezra said. Sammy nodded frantically, his bell jingling.
"It's nice to meet you, ma'am! I'm sure we'll have a paw-some time together mreow!"
"Umm..." Chrissy stared at Sammy as he pulled out the chair next to her, claiming it for himself. He tilted his head towards her. She only stared at him oddly before looking helpless at Ezra. "I don't know if I'm comfortable with this."
"Mreow?" Sammy whined. He blinked at her. He stared at her intently, his yellow cat eyes begging, and Chrissy shifted in her seat. She looked at Ezra for help.
"He likes being patted." Ezra supplied. Chrissy gave him a look.
After a minute of this, Chrissy groaned and pushed his head away.
"No, no, I'm not-" Chrissy tightened her hand in his hair and paused. "Oh." She slid her fingers through his hair.
"Oh, my god." She continued to pet his hair. "Your hair is so soft. What do you use in it?"
"Clean Kitty Pet Shampoo. Makes my coat soft and shiny." Sammy chuckled. Chrissy kept petting his hair, transfixed by the hair. Sammy leaned into the touch and let out a rumble.
"Are you purring?" Chrissy asked wide eyed. Her face softened. "Oh my god, that's so cute." She continued to scratch through Sammy's hair. Her fingers stumbled upon small ears in his hair. "And you have cat ears too?"
"Yeah, they're smaller than Ezra's. My fur can hide them pretty well- Hey, careful!" Sammy yelped, pulling away. His ears flattened to his skull, bore his fangs, and he let out a small hiss. Chrissy yanked her hand back.
"I'm sorry."
Sammy blinked. He slowly relaxed in his seat. A sweet smile returned to his face as he chuckled sheepishly. "It's ok. Just be careful along my ears, ok?"
Chrissy nodded. She hesitated to continue petting him. Sammy chirped out a meow, pressing into her hand. When she went to pull away, Sammy whined and batted at her hands. Chrissy laughed in delight.
