Sarah x Insecure!Reader

You were in your room, staring at the mirror, looking at yourself. You didn't say anything, and walked away. You saw your good friend, and crush, Sarah. She was laying on the couch, upside down, while watching some YouTube with a bored expression. You snuck passed her, trying not to alert her. But then she got up, snd stared at you. You stared back. There was some awkward silence, and the silence was so loud you could even hear a strand of your own (F/C) hair drop on the floor. "Sup." You said breaking the silent barrier. "Sup." She said back. You sped walked to the kitchen, but suddenly bumped your head. "Gah!", which was followed by you tripping on the floor, but you didn't feel any impact. You looked down at the floor, and back at Sarah, who caught you. You blushed a bit, wide eyed. She looked at ylu concerned. You stuttered a bit, and your heart starting beating faster, like it's threatening to bust out of your chest any second. You finally got the your words  back, but it was mumbled. "T...Thanks..Sarah..", luckily, she could hear you. "No probs, (N/N)!" She said pulling you
Back to your feet and giving you a thumbs up. ((Btw you have an animal form, AKA fox form, if that's okay with you. 🥺 But if you do not want one, then just pretend your a regular human.)) You turned to your fox form on accident due to such shyness and nervousness taking over your body. You rubbed the back of your neck, apologizing by the sudden action that happened randomly. "No worries, (N/N). But..You've been acting really weird lately. Is there like..Something you need to get off your chest?.." She said in a concerned tone. Your fur went up immediately, you froze, and went completely cold. You feared she might ask that, but you never thought when it was going to happen. Insecure and more shyness took over immediately, and you backed up. "I-It's nothing, Sarah! Trust me, I'm fine!" You smiled at her, but your ears folded down. That's how she KNEW something was wrong. If you're stuttering, staying silent, or if your ears are folded down, then something's up. "(Y/N)." She said in a soft but stern tone. You tried to cover up your lies. "I'm just tired, no biggie!" "You took a nap for 9 hours straight, (Y/N)." She said with a straight face staring into your soul. "U-uhh.." Your mind completely powered down, and you couldn't think smoothly. At all. "(Y/N), pal, what's the problem, you know you can tell me anything that's on your mind. just tell me what's been bothering you these past few weeks.." She said, softening her tone and slowly walking up to you. You backed up more and more until you were backed up to a wall. "I don't..I...I uh.." You can't find any good words. Tears slowly pricked and burned your eyes. "...Maybe this might help you." She walked closer to you until she was only and inch away from your face. You blushed harder, and broke eye contact. That's when, before you knew it, she kissed you. You were as red as a tomato at this point. You kissed back. Your heart raced faster than a race car. Hell, even faster than fricking SONIC. she broke the kiss after a good 10 seconds. You froze. You looked red. "I know you have a crush on me, (N/N), it was so obvious." The worda that came out her mouth made you lost for words. You couldn't even speak at that point, just look at her, giving her the "It was THAT obvious?!" Face. She continued, "Yes of course it was! You stuttering every now and then when I compliment, or help you, the constant blushing when I hug or cuddle you. I'm not that oblivious, dear." You turned as red as Knuckles when you heard the nickname "dear". "And it's just that.." She trailed off.  "I love you too, (N/N). Now and always will." She said, with a soft smile with a bit of blush going across her face. You were surprised, and couldn't stop your tail from wagging. You gently tackled her, hugging her tightly. "THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!" you yelled with tears in her eyes. Sarah chuckled at your sudden childish action. She thought it was kinda cute.

~Timeskip~

It was 3:00, and you couldn't sleep. You had tears in your eyes, and you kept having nightmares. You couldn't help but shake violently with youe ears folded all the way back and your tail was wrapped around you. "I-I'm a fucking failure.." You said. "Why would she love YOU of all people? She just said that because she felt pity over you." The voice said. You silently cried, trying to not to wake up Sarah, who fell asleep in the living room while watching something with you, but you decided to go to your room and go to bed. And now, here you are. "Why...Why didn't she just kill me from the fucking start...?" You mumbled, with your uncontrollably shaky voice. "I might as well just do it my god damn self. She doesn't love me.". You got up, and tip-toed to the kitchen to grab a knife. You nearly dropped it, but luckily you grabbed it with your tail. Yes. You think of it as like a third working hand. But it then started to slightly bleed due to you grasping it so roughly. You gritted your teeth from the pain that went through your now injured tail. You were being as silent as possible to not wake her up. You grabbed the knife from your tail and gently rubbed the cut, which then blood got on your hand, but you didn't care, blood was gonna go all over the place whether you like it or not. You went to the bathroom with a now blank expression. You gently closed, and locked the door, as to not let Sarah interrupt you. You cut your arms, your tail even more, and accidentally cut your eye and ear while playing with it a little. Tears pricked your eyes as it cut your left eye. You then put your bloodied hand on your heart, and knew what you had to do. "Goodbye Sarah..I love you..And I always will.." You mumbled with tears in your eyes. You were close to doing it...But..

"I am not saying goodbye."
A random feminine voice was behind you, and you went wide eyed. You slowly began to face her, and saw that she had a gentle, but a soft and stern tone, along with her expression, with some worry and concern to go with it. You looked down, and saw that she caught the knife only an inch away from your heart. You looked back up, but quickly broke eye contact with her. She gently snatched the knife away from you and made you face her. "(Y/N) (L/N). What the hell were you thinking.?" She said with more worry and more sternness. She threw the knife at the wall in the hallway and hugged you tight, but not to the point it could hurt you, since she knows how much it'll hurt you. Some blood got on her, yes she noticed, but she didn't care. Not one bit. She just cared about you not killing yourself. She was worried, and broke the hug, the stern voice along with the stern look came back. "I have a feeling there is something you are not telling me." She said, slowly coming closer. You backed up, until you got nudged by the sink. You stared at her in fear as she is very close to you, but a blushed a bit. "Is there something you are not telling me, (Y/N) (L/N)?." She whispered in your ear. "W-well.." You stuttered. You couldn't get the right words a few times, but luckily, Sarah still understood. "So, insecurity. Am I right?.." She asked. You slowly nodded, with tears in your eyes. She sighed softly, and without any warning, picked you up and walked to your room and put you in the bed. " Night, dear.." She said, as she lightly kissed you head. She was about to leave, until you suddenly grabbed her arm. She hummed in a confusion while staring at you. "C-can you uhm..uh.." You STILL can't get your words right. Your ears folded down. "It's okay, (N/N).. Take your time.." She said, smiling softly. You breathed in and out a few times. "Can you..Sleep with me, tonight, maybe?..." You looked down, and back at her. She went wide eyed, she didn't really expect you to ask that, as you're usually too afraid to, and just usually say "nevermind." Or just try and change ghe subject. "I-it's okay if you say no! I completely understand!" You quickly sat up and put your hands up, but pain immediately went through your whole body. You winced in pain, but looked at her with a nervous smile. "Just..Just lay back down.." She said with a sigh, gently pushing you back down. "I'll be right back alright? Stay here." She said before walking away. You just laid there, having more bad thoughts about yourself and how you look. You started mumbling to yourself about the things you're thinking of, while staring at the ceiling in your own thoughts. You were so hypnotized, you didn't even notice Sarah just staring at you in disbelief, concern, and worry. She slowly walks up to you with an aid-kit in hand. She then puts it down on the nightstand, snapping you out of your thoughts. "Hey, (N/N)..? You can sit up now.." She mumbled. You slowly sat up but pain went through your body once again, luckily you succeeded. She opened the aid-kit and started to disinfect your wounds first. You hissed in pain. "Listen, I know it burns, but I have to do this or else you might get sick." You nodded, not wanting to say a word. In the process, she decided to bring up to mood a bit. "Hey, (N/N)?" You hummed, tilting your head while looking at her. "You uh.." She cleared her throat. "This may not be much, but you wanna go.. Get some icecream and to a buffet tomorrow? I heard they had (F/F) and (F/D) there." She asked, blushing a bit. You blushed as well, but answered with a "Of course!" While smiling. She smiled back at you. After she was done with the disinfection and wrapping your wounds up with gauze, she tucked herself in the bed and turned the lamp off. She pulled you into a warm cuddle, and kissed your forehead. "Night Sarah!" You said, wrapping your tail around her waist. "Goodnight, Love.."  She said, smiling at you.

(I was listening to "Me" by Taylor Swift, and "Intentions" by Justin Bieber 😃💀. Btw, if you're insecure about yourself at all, then don't worry, you're not alone, since I'm insecure too. But, to make you feel better, I think you're beautiful, whether I can see you or not, and don't let others tell you you're not beautiful, cuz they are completely wrong.
