When Jasmine and Wendall stopped arguing they walked out the door. Wendall locked the door as Jasmine went to grab their bikes.
"Uhh, help here please." Jasmine groaned while struggling to bring both of the bikes out the back gate. "Woah woah, hold on there." Wendall said jogging slightly towards her opening the gate so she can get out more easily. "Heh thanks... Now... can you get your bike too, please?" Jasmine asked looking pleadingly at him. "Hah, oh right..." Wendall grabbed his bike and they both got on and rode to their favorite park. After a while of riding in silence, Wendall broke it. "Soo.. you havein' fun yet?" He asked her playfully. "Yup-a-roo." She said in a sing-song tone. Once they got to the park they walked their bikes to their most favorite part of the park. It was named "Peace of Nature", by them of course, since no one else knew about it but them. Their not really good with naming things... puns included.
•About Five Years Ago•
The two best friends went to the park with Jasmines mother. She told the two ten-year-olds that they can go explore, which they happily did together. Soon they stumbled upon a bush and Jasmine went through it accidentally. When she didn't come out Wendall got worried and called for her, but she didn't answer. So he built up his courage even more and went through the the bush too. When he did, he went through to the other side, what he saw was a tunnel-like forest, with trees caving in, like a roof and a trail. He heard water and listened to it, while looking around in awe, until Jasmine caught his eye. He couldn't see her face, but he saw the back of her standing so still, only swaying a bit, in-sync with the trees around.
Ten-year-old Wendall ran toward Jasmine and she was taken by surprise at his presents. "Oh, hi Wendall." she said in a tiny voice while smiling at him. "Come on, let's get outta here. What are you doing, anyway?.." He said extending his hand out to her, in his equally tiny voice. "No." she said not taking his hand. "Why not?" He whined putting his hand down knowing she won't take it. "The trees are leading us... Lets go!" She said excitingly pulling the little boy deeper into the tunnel. "I don't think this is safe..." Wendall said unsurely as she was still dragging him. "Oh stop being such a wuss, where'd your courage go?" Jasmine giggled. "ughhhhh" he complained. Soon they can to an abrupt stop, there was a small river blocking their path with no other place to go.
"Uh oh" Jasmine sighed. "uh... we can jump over?" He asked questioningly. "Oh no. No way Jose, am I jumping." she said wide eyed. "Ha, now where's your courage?" He smirked at her while walking backwards and then running forward to jump over the small but big river. "*humph*" Jasmine crossed her arms and turned around. "Oh come on Jazzy, it'll be okay." he tried pursuing her, she didn't even make a peep. "Hmmm... Oh! I have an idea! You jump and I'll catch you!" He said honestly and excitedly. She looked at him bewildered then she said okay. She did the same thing he did to get to the other side and when he was supposed to catch her, he fell down on the ground with her instead.
After they both recovered from the fall, they both got up and was amazed at what they saw. There was a huge tree that looked like it was easy to climb and a clear area around the tree with plants everywhere around the clearing. They looked at each other, goofy smiles on their young faces. 'THIS is OUR place.' They both thought happily.
As the years came by they visited the park more often, and when they did they played pretend and such. They never told a soul about Peace of Nature or about how the park was a special place with a secret area. When they turned twelve they bought different kinds of materials. They put little lanterns everywhere -with candles inside, made a little bridge over the river for Jasmine, built a chest to put things they might need when their there, a nice wooden bench near the river, and two swings hanging on the tree next to each other. Most things made of wood except the lanterns and ropes. They even bought matches for the lanterns.
