•Back to the Present•
They started walking down the familiar trail and stopped at a specific bush, they both looked around holding all their stuff. When the coast was clear they jumped through the bush, like in cartoons, taking their bikes too and setting them down on the dirt floor. They then walked through the Tunnel of Trees and stopped at the bridge, taking in the view of their most favorite place.
"After you." Wendall stepped back and gestured toward the bridge while bowing a bit. "Heh. Why thank you kind sir." Jasmine said in a 'Queens' voice and curtsied. After that they laughed and went to the other side of the bridge.
"What time is it?" Jazz asked getting on one of the swings. "5:07" He answered while getting on the other swing. "Oh, great! We still have a bunch of time." She smiled while starting to swing. After, they started talking about random junk that came across their minds.
"So..." Wendall started after a short silents. They were now sitting on the bench, looking over the river and the decorations they put up as kids.
"So..." She mimicked him, while swinging one foot back and forth.Silents...
"You know what's weird?" Wendall asked. "What?" She questioned.
"Never mind... Just forget it." He sighed looking down. "Oh come on dude. You got me intrigued. You don't just ask somebody 'Hey you know what?' and then say never mind, leaving them wondering. It's not nice." Jasmine stated irritated.
"Woah, calm down, alright. Sorry, it's just... I forgot what I was going to say!" He said nervously, lying at the end. "Oh okay... sorry.." Jasmine said sheepishly, looking at the ground. Wendall sighed, relaxing a bit. "Just don't do it again, ever. Just tell me next time." Jasmine said through clenched teeth, glaring at him. He tensed up, "Okay.." he said. After a while of talking about school, it was almost seven o'clock.
"Who do you like anyway.." Wendall blurted, interrupting Jasmine while she was talking about how she just adored books.
"Huh?..." She said surprised at the sudden question her best friend darted at her.
"Who do you like?" He repeated firmly. "No one," She said looking toward the river again, "How 'bout you?"
"Yea." He answered not telling her who.
"Oh." She said thinking, 'Who managed to get Wendall's heart this time?' Seeing as he likes a different girl each month... Silents strikes for a moment. "Who is it?" Jasmine blurted unconsciously.
"Someone. Not telling." He says confidently.
"Awe, but you always tell me... Is it that you really like her? You don't even want to tell your best friend?" She said flabbergasted and slightly sarcastic.
"Yup, I've like her since I met her but... I don't think she likes me seeing as that when I asked her who she likes she said 'no one' but I'm just going to wait. I haven't told anyone." Wendall said confidently.
"Oh, that's great! Congrats on finally deciding, hope you get her to feel the same!" Jasmine said as cheerily as possible, which sounded very believable. Considering that she likes to act and wants to join the theater at her school but is way to shy for that, she hasn't told anyone because they all think that she's so confident and she doesn't want to let them down.
"Well. We better get going, its getting late." Wendall stated getting up, feeling a bit down on how she didn't quite catch on to who he was referring to.
"Yerp." Jasmine chirped popping the 'p', jumping to her feet... literally. On their way back to their bikes, by the entrance (The bush), they talked (obviously).
"I'm hunggrryyy!" Jazz complained. "You just ate 3 bags of Doritos, 15 small to-go packs of Oreos, 2 packs of Sour Patches, and drank a Coke and Mt. Dew!"
"So, that means what!? Are you calling me fat?!" She said aggressively, being silly. "Nothing, and hey, you said it." Wendall raised his hands defensively, amusement clear in his voice. "Sometimes I hate you..." She pouted. "Well, I love you too." He said sarcastically."HEY! I've got an idea! Why don't you come over and have dinner with me an my fam?" Jasmine said enthusiastically, ignoring what he had just said. "humph... someone's bipolar..." he said to himself but still audible for her to hear. "I'm going to ignore that...." she said irritatedly, "So what do you say? Dinner with the Kellers?"
"Yea sure, let me call my sister." Wendall said as he took his phone out and dialed Rochelle's number. On their way to Jasmines house Wendall asked, "Is it okay if I played music?" "Yup, you don't even need to ask." Jasmine replied grinning.
The first song that came on was Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Coillat. Which was a bit awkward considering the lyrics...
(insert/play song here.) (haha just kidding, you don't have to.)
*if it doesn't play I put the lyrics at the end of this chapter. After the song ended another Best-Friend-Love-Song started so Wendall changed it quickly, feeling his feelings rile up in his chest. With Jasmine being completely being oblivious of his feelings an not really listening to the songs playing, lost in her own world still wondering who he likes.
When they finally got to her house, Wendall greeted her mom, step-pa, and little step-sister. They went to the kitchen and ate stake with a side of beans mixed with corn. Afterwards Wendall said his thanks and biked home, which was around the corner from her house.

By: Jason Mraz & Colbie Coillat.Do you hear me, I'm talking to you

Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying
Boy, I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hardLucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh oohThey don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you, I promise you, I willLucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home somedayAnd so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through the trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right nowLucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home somedayOoohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
