Third person perspective
"I looked over across the nations, sitting at the top of the Archon statues watching the fire burn as Sumeru and Natlan go to war with each other. I know it's weird to say but I always loved fighting. You get to feel the thrill of not knowing if you'll die or not...kinda like gambling. Ever since I was younger, i've been training with my Aunt Vennessa so I can protect Mondstadt as their King. Truth be told, I am a bit scared of what my happen to my family. That's why I secretly "led" them into different careers...it's not manipulation, it's just a little advice. But soon my father will resign and I will be King so I can protect them and Mondstadt myself...still...there's this feeling inside me. It's...an empty feeling...like i'm missing something. Oh well- maybe i'm just longing for a good battle. Mondstadt, despite all its rivalries, hasn't gone to war in 50 years but judging by how things are looking with our neighboring nation, that's about to change soon-"

"OI! VENTI! WHAT'RE YOU DOING OUT HERE? IT'S HOT!" the younger brother shouted whilst standing at the door of the balcony fanning himself with his hand.

Barbatos shuts his journal close and rolls his eyes while sitting on the edge of the balcony with both his feet up. "I don't mind the heat. It's comforting. Shouldn't you be training the knights, Kaeya?"

"Wha- it's wayyyyyy to hot for training! I, like the kind and wonderful captain I am, decided to give my soldiers the day off." he says as he walks up to his brother and puts his head on the railing.

Barbatos kicks him in the head. "Geez- maybe if you weren't such a lazy captain, I would be able to get some peace and quiet." giving him a cold glare, the older one walks back inside leaving his frowning brother in the heat.

Barbatos walked into the main lounge to see his father and Alice. "Oh- Hello, Madame Alice. What brings you here today?" the young one says while bowing his head.

"Oh my dear child! Hehe, you don't have to bow your head for me sweetheart~" she says as she gets ups and hugs him tightly "Your father and I were just discussing some business that we're dealing with Liyue. Would you like to join us?" Barbatos catches his breathe after being suffocated "If it isn't a bother."

Venti's perspective
"So the situation is getting worse? I'm telling you, it's because of those sleazy rascals from Snezhnaya that are killing their people and blaming it on us so the attention isn't on them while their little fatui organizations is scheming something! They did my the same thing with Sumeru and Natlan and you know it!" it infuriates me how they always interrupt with our affairs "Well, that could be a possibility but you know how Liyue's deity has been. It could also be them trying to pick a fight with us. We can't be certain. But! Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure...we must go to war to protect our citizens!" Alice had a serious look on her face. She was right. I will protect Mondstadt. "Then so be it. Noelle!" a young girl who was standing out the doorway guarding them walked in "Call my siblings over here. And all the royal staff that are currently here." she looked surprised "Y-yes Lord Barbatos!" father looked a bit worried "Don't worry, father! I have a request actually." he furrowed his eyebrows "I would like to take the title as King before we declare war! I know you don't wish to fight, so I will do it for you. Then after we win...my wedding with Albedo will be set!" he had a shocked looked then smiled shortly after "Alright, kiddo. Tomorrow! We will have your crowing. We must do it as soon as possible! Before Liyue sets off their attacks." (bros giving me daddy issues ngl)

Third person perspective
After Noelle assembled all the members of the Royal family and staff, King Varka began to explain their intentions. "Hm? But I thought Venti wasn't going to get married and become King until he was 23! What is the purpose of his coronation? Why can't we just go to war as it is?" Venti sighed deeply and looked away from his younger brother. "Calm down, Kaeya. I am the one who wanted this. I'm too old to fight in this war. Your brother is the only one who can rightfully lead us and he will do so as King! End of discussion." Varka seemed stressed but still tried to maintain himself for the sake of his family. Although there did seem to still be some unknown tension between Kaeya and Venti that none of the others understood. There was a loud silence for a moment.

"U-um Master Varka! Would you like me to start planning the events for tomorrow's ceremony? I can also report the information to Lord Albedo!" the young maid tried to break the tension.

"Hm? Ah yes. Please do so. Thank you very much, Noelle!"

"Hold it! I would actually like to deliver the message to Albedo personally." Barbatos walked out the room with Noelle but not before he gave a quick glance at Kaeya. It wasn't a mean glare...it was more...reassuring.

"Well if we're done talking about that...Diluc my dear! Come with me and let's go set a battle plan with Eula!"

"Uh- Lord Barbatos? If you don't mind me asking, what's going on with you and Master Kaeya?"

Venti took and a breath in and exhaled then looked and Noelle and smiled "Do you want to know the truth? You have to promise not to tell anyone though." Noelle nodded "He's always wanted to be in my position. To be King of Mondstadt. To marry Albedo. To have everyone look up to him. And it's not like I want to steal away his dream. But, he is weak. If he was in my position, Mondstadt would fall. And that is my dream. To always protect Mondstadt. And maybe have it as the only nation standing. (hehe this won't age well) Although I love him, I want to achieve my dream over his. It always despises me how he's always so laid back. Maybe if he acted more mature I would think about giving up my position. Also whenever he says I mistreat Albedo it makes me so angry that I want to kill him on spot. (anger issues my boy😌) I'm not sure how he feels about him but when we were kids me and Albedo would spend more time together than anyone else and Kaeya would always give me weird glares. I love Albedo though. (he means as a friend don't worry. he doesn't real love...yet) And marrying him is essential to my dream of ruling over Teyvat. Huh- oh it looks like we're here!"

Barbatos rambled on the entire walk to Albedo's lab. Noelle was stunned from everything she had heard and couldn't form any words.

"Albedo? Hey! It's been a while!"

"Oh- Venti!" Albedo stopped his experiment and gave him a hug "What brings you here today?"

"Oh well you see-" Venti explained the situation. "So right after we win the war, which we will, our wedding will be set. You looked troubled, is something wrong?"

"No. I'm just a bit worried. The war will be pretty long and I won't see you for a couple of months."(don't worry this hurts me more to write than it hurts you reading this shit)

"You trust me right? I'll be fine. There's no way anything will happen to me. I'll make sure I won't get hurt for you!" Barbatos had a kind reassuring smile. He loved Albedo. But maybe not in the same way Albedo loved him.
