and suddenly, I felt an overwhelming sadness rush through me
it ran from the tips of my fingers to the underside of my toes
I felt it ache in my chest, and catch in my throat
it dropped from the corners of my eyes, and it ran down the sides of my cheeks, collecting in drops at the bottom of my chin
it was mighty and strong like a gust of wind
it grew in goose bumps on my legs, and it sunk my eyes into my skull
and then, I saw it in you.
I saw it in your eyes but never on your lips,
I saw it littered on your bathroom floor, bunched up in wads
I felt it when your ice cold hands grazed my own,
I heard it in gasps, through the paper thin walls of your bedroom
I knew it was real when I looked into your eyes, but instead saw my own
I saw myself in pieces of you
but the glass that cut me the deepest didn't
belong to you at allit was mine all along
