Micah had never found change to be something "easy" to succumb to, he was stubborn and hard-headed. It was one of the things Giden loved about him the most, one of his key traits. That's why Micah wanted to come out of his shell.
Micah quickly distanced himself from their group after that night. He didn't know how to process what had occurred and didn't plan on it. All he knew, was that he only had a few more months of school left until he'd be off in New York, building up his own cafe, and following his dreams. He originally planned to stay in his sweet hometown, he presumed he'd miss his family too much.
He soon concluded that his family would always be in Colorado, and as far as he knew so would Lyssa. The poor bottle blonde couldn't even look at Lyssa after what she had attempted. Micah knew he could be attracted to women, he's crushed on every gender in all honesty. But, he also knew that he didn't have feelings for Lyssa. Not because she wasn't "pure," if that was the case he wouldn't have even looked in her brother's direction. He simply wasn't attracted to her, he thought they could be friends. It spun and twisted him every time he tried to under why she wanted him so bad.
Micah sighed, sitting down at a small lunch table indoors and taking a bite of one of the many gingerbread cookies he had prepared before the event. He originally planned to give them to Giden, maybe even watch a Christmas movie together, but Micah didn't know how to speak to him. Micah thought of every day to try and talk to him again. He couldn't he'd get too nervous, he thought Giden hated him.
Giden could never hate Micah. Micah was the first man he ever felt something for, the first person he ever felt something romantic for. Giden simply didn't understand how to show affection, due to his shitty parents. All he knew was that when he saw Micah and his family he wanted to be a part of their warm smiles and even warmer hugs. Giden couldn't process his emotions, but he knew he had to fix what he had done.
After many hours of alcoholic tears and endless punches to walls, punching bags, hell, even people. Giden released he was gay. He broke down at that very realization. It'd break his family even further. His father would blame his mother, saying she brought him around too many men too young. His sister would blame herself, then twist his sexuality to use against him in every way possible. And worst of all, his mother would drown herself in vodka. He often feared one morning he'd wake up to his mother dead from alcoholic poisoning.
Giden tore himself apart, staying away from everyone, trying to find ways to no longer have the emotions he felt, but he simply couldn't. All along he had known he was gay, no matter how many women he had indulged himself in, he never felt that spark. The spark he only ever felt with Micah. Half of the time he'd imagine a man to even get it up. He'd force himself, and if he didn't his "friends" would.
He could no longer handle the pressure.
That fateful day, before Christmas break. He decided he'd let it all hang loose.
