Chapter 23

*time skip (10years)

Y/n pov:

"And that's what the rules of the l/n were back then" I explained as the twins were sitting on my lap

"But it's not like that anymore right mommy?" The one twin, hina (a girl), asked

"No after I talked to the ancestors that night everything changed" I said and couldn't help but smile

"But were things easy?" The other twin, suna (a boy) asked

"No we had our ups and down but every person does" I look at them "and even if we didn't work out in the end I still love your dad very much"

The twins look at each other and I could see something was bothering them

"What's wrong?"

"Why did dad leave" hina asked

I look at them, and I sigh.

'Honestly I don't know why Boruto left, he just came over one night but I didn't feel like he was saying goodbye and then the next day he was gone'

"Your father was sent on a really important and special mission" I gave them both a smile

"So he'll come back?" Suna asked and I slowly nodded

Let's pause right here and I'll tell you everything, or more like a summarised version

After talking to the ancestor they changed their minds, not right away. After that everything was great Boruto and I were still dating, we had out fair share of fights but nothing changed. We have found the last l/n and they are staying here, in the leaf village.

My mother is the head of the clan but also one of the main medical ninja at the hospital, and I also have twin now hina and suna. Boruto is obviously the father but he doesn't know since after that night he just left and I haven't seen him since and it's been 3 years since he left

So yeah that's a summarised version.

"I can't wait to meet daddy" suna said and hina nodded

Before I said anything I felt a presence, I don't recognise, come towards my house. (I live in the l/n compound)

The person knocked on the door and I stood up and put the twins down on the couch

"I'll see who that is, okay"

I walked towards the door. I wasn't sure if I should open but I did eventually

My eyes widen

"Hi" the person said

"B-Boruto..." I said as we looked at each other. I couldn't believe who I was looking at. He hasn't changed much but still it felt like I didn't recognise him.

I don't know what to say, I'm excited to see him but also upset because he just left without any explanation

Before I realised what I was doing I wrapped my arms around

"Boruto" I said as I felt him wrap his arms around my waist

"I missed you so much" he said "I'm so sorry"

I didn't say anything, I couldn't, not now.

We stayed like that for longer then I thought because the twin were standing behind me now

"Mommy who is this" hina asked as they poked their head out from behind me

Boruto pulled away "mommy?" He asked as he frowned before turning to look at the twins. He stopped frowning as his eyes softened

I turn to look at the twin "hina, suna meet Boruto-"

"Daddy" they both reached for him as they hugged his legs "you came back"

Boruto didn't know what to do but he looked at them and I saw tears form in his eyes, he bent down and wrapped his arms around them

"Sorry for making you wait" he hugged them . After that Boruto insisted on putting them to sleep

"Goodnight you two" he kissed both of them on their foreheads

"Will you be here when we wake up" suna asked

"Of course" he closed the door and turned to look at me. We walked to the kitchen, so we weren't close to the twins room

"I told them you were sent on a really important and special mission"

"I'm sorry" he said "really I am. I have been gone for 3 years and I didn't contact you or anything but you were the only person on my mind while I was gone, and when I came back I came straight here"

"I was really upset when you left, and I didn't know how long I could keep the truth from the twins"

He walked towards me "the reason I left-"

"That's in the past, I don't care why you left, you're here now and that's all that's important"

"I really missed you" he said "and I'm just as in love with you as I ever was, maybe even
more" he placed a kiss on my cheek
