Chapter 10

Monika's POV

"As your teacher, I think I am allowed to have my own rules, in my own classroom!" The teacher yelled at one of the students that's been playing on their phone for the past fifteen minutes and now had been caught, obviously refusing to give their phone away.

Monika was not paying attention at all and instead was drawing little cute drawings of her and Yuri holding hands or just being there. Since she was at the end of the class and she hasn't been seated with anyone, she didn't have any fear in drawing whatsoever was on her mind. She quietly minded her own business until the teacher clapped his hands together getting everyone's attention.

"Ehem, dear class!" He started, moving to the teacher's desk and grabbing a sheet of paper in his hands.

"So, I have decided that you guys are gonna have to do a project, for a grade obviously" He silently watched the class groaning in annoyance and completely disapproving with what the older man had just announced.

"I mean, or we could have an exam if you guys aren't okay with a proj-" He got cut of in the middle of his sentence by the class suddenly changing their option on the project and even Monika agreeing that a project is much much better then a whole ass exam.

"Okay, glad we can now look to what I am speaking with much more positive views!" He grinned before starting to read what the project will be about and what groups will have to do in their projects.

"So, everyone will work in pairs" Another happy wave of screams. The teacher mentally cried that this hell would be over sooner and continued.

"But I will choose, who is with who, unless I know that those students have great grades and both people agree that they wanna work together." He ended, now turning to the class and raising his brow at the not so small forest of hands.

The first was some black haired dude Monika didn't even remembered the name of. As the teacher picked him, he turned to the literature's club president, gave her a wink and started.

"I would like to work with Monika" He proudly stated, watching some people death-stare him as he stated his wish. The teacher turned to the brunette and asked.

"Okay so Monika, you do wanna work wit-"  And got cut of in the middle of his sentence.

"No." Monika hissed, crossing her arms. The teacher grinned and looked at the boy before announcing.

"Monika disagreed so I'm sorry to say that you won't work with her." And turned his gaze to the forest of hands. Some other kids asked to be seated, but only two offers been accepted by the old man, so far.

Suddenly the man's face changed and his eyes widened when he saw one student raise their hand. Monika couldn't tell who it was by the forest of other teens hands, but she felt herself build up with excitement and fear as she heard the teacher say the students name.

"Oh woah! I didn't suspect you being sociable today, Yuri! Who do you want to work with?" The teacher asked, even the class getting dead silent as Yuri shifted uncomfortably in her position, before trying to speak.

"I-I.. W-well.. I would.. I.. Uh.." She fidgeted with her hair turning away. There were a few snickers from a few classmates and the teacher turned to them with a cross expression, before glancing down at the purplette, while his expression visibly softening.

"It's okay take your time.." He said carefully. Yuri took a huge breath in and let it out before turning to the teacher with a stern expression and blurring out.
