The rain comes down like cats and dogs. Lightning strikes right behind her. Her silhouette is outlined by the light beaming off of the bolt. A mixture of tears and raindrops drip down her face. I try and tread closer to her, but she steps back even further. Her feet graze the edge of the cliff.
My legs freeze. When did this start? Why did this happen to her? When did these thoughts start coming back? This is what happens when you get involved with the cat spirit...
"Kyo..." Her words quiver and her voice is unsteady, almost like a little stutter.
"Yes, I'm here... Don't worry Y/N I'm here." My feet struggle to lift off of the ground as I try to move closer.
"No! Stay there, stay where you are Kyo!"
I stop.
Her pain echoes out of her heart as pure regret beams from her.
"Y/N, talk to me..." I beg her to tell me what's wrong.
"I am talking to you! Don't come closer to me! You saw what they did, you heard what Akito said! He made me a prom..."
"I don't care about any promise he might have made to you. It's not you!"
"If it helps you if it gets you to actually be a part of them, to be happy..."
"Don't... Don't do this! I love you..." I cry.
"Why?" She turns around to face the twenty-five-foot drop.
"I don't want you to do this!" I fall to my knees. My hopes are dwindling.
"Kyo- I love you too, this is all for you..."
Her words shatter my heart. This isn't what I want! My throat burns as I try and hold tears back.
Her hair blows in the wind. The thunders' roars are too loud for me can't hear a thing she is saying. My eyes are blinded by another strike of lightning. Her silhouette disappears into the night. The realization starts to kick in, she jumped, she really jumped... My body moves on its own. I dive and lean over the cliff. My body feels heavy as it rests on the ground. I wipe away the tears that were clouding my view. I look down. Her body lays on the dirt far below, lifeless...
I'll kill him for this! I'll kill him for hurting her.
