Chapter 3: Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love? Part 1

Clawdeen's POV:
I had just woke up for school and was getting ready when I realized I couldn't smell Conner's scent for some reason. I walked out of my room after finishing getting ready to leave and knocked on his door. 

"Conner, you in there?" I asked through the door. I waited but there was no answer. I couldn't even hear him snoring if he does snore anyway. "Well, I'm coming in." I said as I opened the door with my eyes closed.

I still didn't hear anything. "Um, Clawdeen, no ones in here." I heard Clawd said as I opened my eyes to see only Clawd and myself in the room. "Where's Conner?" I asked. I was hoping he didn't run away again. For some reason it hurt knowing he might have left again without saying goodbye again. "He had to take care of some things last night. He's downstairs." Mom said as she walked into the room.

We followed her to the living room and I saw Conner snoring on the couch. "Wait, if he was here the whole time, then how come we couldn't pick up his scent or hear him snoring?" I asked. "I think it's because he had Venom mask his scent." Mom said. I walked over to Conner and saw how handsome he is. I smiled and saw Conner starting to wake up.

"Morning bone head." I said with a smirk. "Hardy-har-har. *Groans* Last time someone called me that, it was my mentor." Conner said as he sat up and rubbed his neck. And the blanket that was on him dropped to reveal his muscular figure and his eight-pack abs. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and felt my face was burning up. I turned away and played with my hair.

"You alright man?" Clawd asked. "Rough night. Honestly, it's hard to remember sometimes. I do remember this one guy. His sins were great. Too great that I had to use the Rider's ultimate weapon on him." Conner said and that caught my attention. I turned around and looked at him. "What Ultimate Weapon?" I asked. "Remember what I told you about the Rider's ability to turn all the evil someone has done against them?" he asked.

And that's when it clicked. "So he's trapped within his own hell?" Clawed asked. "Unfortunately. But from what Zarthos has told me he held back and it will wear off in a few days. Apparently all the people I've used the Penance Stare on were all convicted and sent to prison after they woke up and pleaded guilty." Conner said as he put on his shirt and I felt sad that I couldn't see his magnificent abs anymore.

Conner's POV:
I looked over at Clawdeen and she seemed sad about something. "Something wrong, Clawdeen?" I asked her. "Huh, oh no. Nothing. We better get to school before we're late." Clawdeen said. 

"Right, school. Been a while since I've been to one." I said as I grabbed my bag and Mrs. Wolf handed me some water. "Better drink this before you go." She said. I smiled and nodded my head. I took the glass and drunk it down.

"Much better. Thanks." I said after finishing the water in record time. "Dude, I've never seen anyone chug water that fast." Clawd said. "Eh, works when you are host to both an alien organism and a supernatural entity that seeks both vengeance and justice. Especially when my head bursts into flames. That always gives me a headache." I said as we left the house and I was about to climb into my car when Clawdeen stopped me.

"No way. This time, we're taking my car." She said. "Try as you might, but you can't keep a rider from his/ her ride." I said as my keys reappeared in my hand. "Wait how did you do that?" Clawd asked. "The car and I are bonded through Hellfire. Whatever I ride, transforms with me when I become the Rider." I explained. "That's cool." Clawd said as he went over to my car and climbed in.

"Don't worry, I'll follow you." I said and Clawdeen sighed in defeat. "Fine. Just don't do anything stupid." Clawdeen said as she went to her own car and I got into mine. "Dude, you are going to like Monster High." Clawd said. "Maybe. We'll see." I said as I turned on the engine and signaled to Clawdeen to lead the way to Monster High.
