Chapter 4: Key
In Taehyung's attempt of finding out where the necklace came from, he failed to know who was behind the jewelry.
"Taehyung, I'm telling you, I asked my friend about that but she was sure that jewelry was not something made back then. But she said that one seems interesting, and she will buy it to test it." Yoongi told him.
"I'm not looking for a Seller, hyung." Taehyung sighed.
"Why are you searching for that necklace? Is that something important or what?" Yoongi asked.
"Nothing, just don't mind it." Taehyung muttered looking at the necklace.
"By the way, how's being tutored by Jungkook?" Yoongi suddenly changed the topic.
"Annoying, obviously, he's a real bastard." Taehyung retorted while they were walking in the hallway to leave the University.
"You surely hate him, hah." Yoongi giggled.
"If you just know what he did to me, you will hate him too." Taehyung stated, huffing.
"You should get along with him, you will be stuck with him for so long." Yoongi grinned.
"I know, just thinking of that already annoyed me." Taehyung muttered.
"Are you going straight to your home or somewhere else?" Yoongi inquired.
"I don't have tutor class for today so I had to go straight home. Mom surely will scold me if she found out I'm not studying." Taehyung sighed.
"Sucks for you, I'll go now, I have to visit Jimin's shop." Yoongi patted his shoulder.
"Tell him 'hi' from me." Taehyung said when Yoongi walked away.
Taehyung went to his house, he saw his mother preparing their dinner.
"I'm home, mom." He said enthusiastically and ran to her, hugging her.
"Good evening, son, how's the class?" Jasmine, her mom greeted him back.
"Sucks, obviously. Everything is so exhausting." Taehyung pouted, pulling away from the hug.
"Don't exaggerate, son, you have to get used to it. You have 2 years more to study you know." Jasmine giggled.
"Still, I hate studies." Taehyung muttered.
"Silly you, Taehyung." Jasmine laughed.
But her face turned serious when she saw the necklace Taehyung was wearing.
"What's that?" Jasmine asked pointing to Taehyung's necklace.
"Huh? My necklace, mom." Taehyung responded.
"Why is that fix? Where did you find the pair?" Jasmine inquired glaring at him.
"To someone, I knew, why?" Tehyung replied looking at her confusedly.
"I'm asking who? Taehyung, who?" Jasmine grumbled and shooked his shoulders.
"Why do you want to know mom? Why are you acting like this?" Taehyung retorted not liking how his mother acted.
"Just tell me who is it, Taehyung?! How did you find the pair of that necklace?!" Jasmine growled, she seem agitated.
"Jungkook! I stole it from his house." Taehyung moved backward to maintain space between them.
"What? How did you know him? How did you meet him? Why did you go to his house?!" Jasmine snarled.
"He's my tutor, mom, of course, I had to go to his house. He's one of my classmates." Taehyung explained.
"That bastard....."
Taehyung can't comprehend sentence what she was saying. He doesn't understand why she's being like this. It was his first to see her being anxious.
"Don't try to talk with him anymore, Taehyung. Cut your ties with him. I don't want to hear his name from you, understood?!" Jasmine told him.
"Why?" Taehyung asked, he wants to know why.
"Just do what I said! Do you understand, Taehyung?!" Jasmine yelled at him.
"I—I understand, mom." Taehyung just agreed to what she wanted.
"What's happening here? Why are you raising your voice to Taehyung, mom?" Jin asked when he came inside after his work.
Taehyung left the house not noticing tears falling from his eyes. It hurts him to hear his mom yell at him for not knowing the reason.
"He saw Jungkook, how? Why? Why did he have to show up?!" Jasmine sobbed.
"You don't have to worry about it, mom. I already warned Jungkook, he won't dare to go neat Taehyung anymore." Jin assured her.
"You know? Why you didn't tell me?!" Jasmine grumbled.
"I don't want you to stress about it. Besides, I fix it already. If there is something you have to worry about, it was Taehyung's memory. He shouldn't remember anything from that event anymore. He forgot them, let's hope those memories are fully erased from his brain." Jin stated.
Jungkook was working as a bartender in a club but also as a janitor. He was currently taking out the trash behind the club. Out of nowhere, he saw a familiar figure in the alley.
"What are you doing here?" Jungkook asked when he saw Taehyung.
"You dont need to know." Taehyung simply replied wiping off his tears.
"Make sure to leave, you will scare the rat living here." Jungkook told him and remove the gloves.
"Asshole!" Taehyung said through his gritted teeth.
But suddenly, he remembered about Miyoung.
"Wait, did you leave Miyoung alone in your house?" He asked with a hint of concern in his tone.
"That's not of your business anymore." Jungkook mockingly replied.
"Are you insane?! Why did you leave her alone in your house?!" Taehyung grumbled.
"She knows how to take care of herself, besides, she's sleeping now." Jungkook retorted.
"Still, she's a kid for fucking sake! You can't leave her alone!" Taehyung snarled.
"If I were you, mind your own business. I know what I'm doing so better don't meddle with my own stuff." Jungkook stated, turning around to leave.
"Give me your house key"
He was stopped when he heard that from Taehyung.
"What?" He turned around to look at him.
"Give me your house key! I'm going there to check her!" Taehyung replied.
"What makes you think I will let you do that? There's no way I will give my house key to someone like you." Jungkook mocked.
"I'm not doing this for you, okay? I'm worried about the kid you ducking left alone in your house, asshole!" Taehyung shot back.
"Fine, under the doormat. My key is under the doormat." Jungkook sighed in defeat.
Taehyung did not hesitate to run away from him after getting the information he wanted. Meanwhile, Jungkook smiled, his family was getting along together.
