6 months.

6 months have passed since Venti last left the plane of Teyvat and entered a vaporwave type space.

Ven showed him his room too. The bard couldn't help but get all touchy feely with the new technology in front of him. Ven had to show him what a "tv" was, and Venti almost broke it on the first day trying to see how durable it was.

Not only was he getting used to new things, but he also trained to get stronger with Demetrius. The shadow knight went easy on him on the first day and the levels progressively got harder and more difficult by time.

Venti had to hit dummies and targets and dummies that looked like hilichurls. It didn't help the fact that Ven was practically shouting in his ear the whole time.

"What kind of shot was that? I bet I can use a sword better than you in 48 hours!" They nagged with a tone of disappointment. Venti grumbled a curse under his breath before launching the sword forward with all his strength. The sword flew through the air and spun in tiny circles while Ven and Venti held their breath in anticipation.

The sword pierced the chest of the hilichurl dummy, little pieces of wood exploding out of it like a piñata. By the time Venti let go of his breath, he almost fainted from how long he had been holding it.

Ven hugged him and swung him off his feet, cheering and praising him of his success.

A small part of Venti, though, wished that Aether was there too. Congratulating him of being able to stab people from miles away. He wanted to give him a hug that lasted forever, play with his long hair and get to braid it, and possibly just stare at him in silence. He was beautiful, you know.

"Hey, kid. Are you good? You've been staring at the floor with this weird face for 5 minutes." Ven tapped his shoulder and Venti jolted to life. With a bewildered look, he gazed straight at Ven and asked them a question.

"Would you think I'm gay for missing my friend?"

♤Present Day♤

Ven quietly opened the door to Venti's bedroom and smiled widely when they saw him sleeping peacefully.

Or rather, sleepwalking peacefully.

Venti was standing up right besides his bed and his arms were in an oval shape, as if he were hugging someone. He had a little smile on his face as he nestled into the air. Er, whoever he was hugging.

Ven giggled and entered his room, but didn't go up to him directly since they knew it was quite dangerous to walk a sleepwalker.

"Mmm, you know Aether, you're as warm as I remember you half a year ago."

Venti began to talk in his sleep, with his occasional little squeaks and noises he made in his sleep. It was oddly adorable and Ven couldn't stop watching it.

Venti frowned and closed his arms in, hugging the air tighter. "No! Don't you leave me again!" He whined and put his head down a little.

Ven rolled their eyes and sighed, pinching the bridge of their nose. They held out both hands and their vision glowed bright. In their hands, two little demon girls appeared holding hands. (You could say this was Ven's elemental skill.)

"Cleo, Claire. Go get em!" Ven whisper shouted as they threw the girls in Venti's direction.

Cleo and Claire looked up at Venti, who was giggling uncontrollably. "Hehehehe, that feels good." Apparently he was getting pats on the head in his sleep.
