"Remember, go out the back and, for the love of god, try not to get killed."
"I make no promises, you know that," Was said back through the earpiece.
Dane Rivers, known as 'Gunner' in the underworld, had a habit of not following instructions. He did the exact opposite. He was one of the best, but he always got caught.
"I'm in," Pink murmured into the earpiece.
Pink, otherwise known as Emma Carwill, was the quiet, yet sensible one of the group. She could hack into a system of high-class tech in under a minute. Nothing got past her, ever. She was also the only girl, and because of that, when shit went wrong, she was supposed to fix it.
Dane gave a thumbs up in signal to Taco, who was on the roof.
Taco, also known as Egar Tick, was the getaway driver. He could get out of any situation you needed him to. Was he stupid? Sometimes. Was he the comedic relief? Yes. Did that change how badass he was? Never. No matter the ridiculous situation, he always looked cool. It was practically a personality trait of his. He's also a coatic gay if that says anything.
"Whenever you're ready," Taco said, then added, "And I second that 'don't get killed' thing. I can't lose you, man. You make the best pies a dude could eat!"
Pink stifled a laugh. One thing about Dane was that he could make a mean cherry pie.
"I'm going in," Dane told them, ignoring Taco's comment, then said, "Oh, and if I die, don't cry."
"Yeah, we know you don't like emotion very much," Pink quietly whispered through the earpiece. She was hoping and praying shit went as planned. She had a feeling something was going to go wrong, something big.
Taco on the other hand said, "What loser doesn't want bitches to cry over him? Jeez."
"Me," Dane stated the obvious. He even added an eye roll. Though, only Taco could see him.
"What's with the sass man?" Taco continued to joke.
"Shut it," Pink scolded Taco.
Dane scowled before following the alleyway to the back of the greatest museum in the world, The Louvre. It was located in Paris, where they were at that moment.
Getting in was going to be the hardest part. Getting out? Easy. Or so they thought. There was only one shot to get it right and if they failed, shit would go wrong, terribly wrong.
"I'm clear," Taco said.
Then they were off.

Twenty minutes later...
Battle cries. Yelling. Screaming.
And the funny part? None of it was even for them. The infamous Carter had pulled up. Gunner looked over his shoulder from the back of the ballroom. The necklace, the thing they were meant to steal in the first place, was tucked safely into his pocket. Carter and Gunner made eye contact.
"Gunner, hurry up!" Pink said through the earpiece, interrupting Gunner. Something was about to go wrong, she could feel it.
"Don't rush him!" Taco defended Gunner, "I bet he's looking at Carter's hot chunk of ass."
Gunner quickly denied that and moved his gaze to the front exit.
"You're supposed to go out the back," Pink reminded him. She was watching through the security cameras.
"No," Was the only response she got.
This was where it went wrong.
