Pov: Genevieve

I can't believe I caved on Endersons deal, but honestly I think he's right. I don't know if I'll end our families feud, but trying would be a good thing. I just hope I'm doing the right thing.

"Spill" Kehlani walks into my office, putting her hands on my desk.

"There's nothing to spill, lani" I half lie.

"C'mon lover boy was literally staring at you. There's no way you didn't get your freak on" She presses.

"We didn't get our 'freak on' lani. We can barely stand each other" I confess. Which is the truth, we argue everytime were in the same room.

"Just tension" Kehlani teases.

"Trust me, it's not" I respond leaving her with nothing.

"Genny Gen Gen, my sweet girl. Enderson is hot, smoking hot. Don't tell me you don't think so" She says.

I roll my eyes at her comment, but i choose to not comment, because yes Enderson is really attractive. His hair, his tattoos, his abs, he's got it going on.

"Lani our parents can't stand each other" I say.

"Maybe you should care less about what your parents think, Gen. Maybe it's time to think about what you want. You're going to be the CEO for crying out loud. You deserve to give yourself what you want" She says.

Maybe that is true. Hell, I damn well know it is. Everyone saying I should care less about what my parents think is an ongoing sentence that comes out of everyones mouth.

"You don't understand, lani" I respond.

"I love you, Gen. So I'm going to put this in the best way I possibly can, but when have your parents done anything for you? Have they ever once said they were proud of your accomplishments." Kehlani says.

My heart strings tug at the words she is saying, because it's true, but I don't let those words get to my head. I'm sure they're proud of me.

"They think that I shouldn't be praised for doing something considered an accomplishment, because it could deam my success. I could become gloated. Always expecting to be accomplishing something. They're proud I'm sure. They just don't want me to get it into my head" I respond trying to pressure myself into believing my own words.

**buzz buzz**

A notification sound buzzes from my phone. I pick up my phone and glance at the screen.

"This is Enderson. Save my number, princess. Also, have you rethought about my hanging out offer. I'm a pretty fun time if j say so myself."

I laugh at my screen from the text I am seeing.

"What" Kehlani questions.

I show her the message earning a laugh from her.

"You should hang out with him, Gen. Who knows? Maybe you can be friends" She says.

I laugh, "Yeah that wouldn't go well with my parents".

I don't respond to the message, and put my phone up.
