Chapter Two: We Say Summer

March 20, 2011 – Monday

10:30 AM

Hannah and I decided to hang out at my place for the day. We sat on the porch swing of my house and watched people walk by. It was just one of those sunny days.

I grabbed my cell phone from my pocket and texted Chris.

A: I’m so bored! What are you doing? - Momo

C: You’re telling me.. I’m heading over to Marianne’s why? – Coco Puffs

A: Oh, that’s nice. Nothing I was just wondering. Who else is coming? – Momo

C: Ricky’s already there. I’m getting in my car right now. Look I gotta go, see ya later Mo. – Coco Puffs

A: Thanks for inviting me by the way! –Momo

He didn't reply after that, gosh darnit that boy! Anyways...

We had been sitting out here for about an hour and a half or so. I’m not really sure. Time just seemed to move terribly slow today.

I was wearing my yellow tank top with a picture of snoopy on it; and my favorite jean shorts, completing the look with my white platform sandals. I had rested my shades on top of my head, to keep my hair out of my face. Hannah was wearing an outfit similar to mine except she was wearing a black vest over her tank top and she was wearing gladiator sandals.

“Hey Hannah, what exactly are we doing out here?” I said breaking the silence, slipping my phone into my pocket.

She shrugged. “I’m not sure, just passing time I guess.”

I nod and remember she probably didn’t see it because she was facing another direction. “Do you want to go the mall or I don’t know maybe the beach?” I ask her, thinking there’s bound to be something to do at either places. I shift in my seat to face her, waiting for her answer.

“Let’s go to the beach, I feel like going there today.” She answered brightly.

“We better get our swim suits ready. Come on Hannah.” I say gesturing to my house.

“I think I still have the swim suit you left at my house that one time. Let’s go see.”

We get off the swing and slipped on our shoes. I opened the door and motioned for her to go in first. Once we were in the house I closed the door and we journeyed to my room.

“We should probably invite Marianne and the others, is that okay?” She asked, slipping her phone out of her pocket.

“Yeah, it’s okay. Ricky and Chris are at her house anyway, just tell them to meet us there.” I say.

“Hey Marianne! It’s me Hannah. Yeah, I’m with her right now. We’re fine. Actually I called to invite you guys to the beach with us. We’re going to head over there after we get dressed. Okay then, see you guys there. Miss you too, Bye.”

“They said they’re on their way, they’ll probably be driving there in Chris’s car.” She said while packing her bag. Well technically it’s my bag, but you get it.

“Cool!” I said chuckling and packing my bag as well. I got my towel? Check. Extra clothes? Check. You’re probably wondering why I need extra clothes. Well you can never be too prepared. That’s all I’m saying. I’ve got my Ray-Ban Shades. Check. My sun block? Check. Okay I’ve got my wallet for money, my keys to the house and a magazine in case I get bored, the iPod in case I get bored of the magazine, and lastly a bottle of water. Check. That’s about everything. Oh wait, is that a hair tie? I’ll need that, thank you.
