More Moments ... Shattered Illusions

Warning  --  You ain't gonna like this much .... I've taken days deliberating what to write, and how to write it.  Sugar coat it, make it all nice and lovely ?  Or, tell my own version of my reality, and let it be ?  You should know me by now ...

Also, I've noticed lately that my memory isn't the best, so I may get days and events mixed up, so ... (I have to refer to my photos to see what day it was !)

I never knew I could be so cold for so long, and still survive.  Almost 20 hours of standing and sitting on freezing train station platforms, both in England and in Paris, and even when I arrived at our Airbnb, it wasn't hugely warm.  So, not a great mood to start off with.  This was Thursday 8th Dec, and I met up with Kelly who was staying at the Airbnb too.  We arranged to go out to dinner with Karen Stout, (IG karen.stout.0730.,) and Mary, (IG lestwinsprotagonist).  I think Kelly and I just talked when we got back, and also the next morning, until we were ready to leave for the workshop.

It was an early one, 7 p.m., and we duly did what we always do.  We paid us money, and waited patiently in line.  Lisa and Angela and Nicki arrived, and were greeted with gusto.  Our Hotel Bridget LT sisters !  And I was so surprised that so many people came to find me to say hello !  It seemed I knew most peeps there, or they knew me, and it was lovely.  I love this LT community that we have.

I had cornered Eleni, and asked if I could put my two boxes of identical gifts in Bruce's office, and if I could grab them later, it would be great.

Did I need them both together ? she asked. They had identical gifts, but they would take some explanation, I thought. If that were possible, wonderful, but it didn't matter, I knew how hectic it would be once they were here.

Lau walked, no almost ran the gauntlet in the narrow corridor ; Hi guys, hi guys - that was it for the time being.  We went into the studio, and found our seats.  I hated this part, and I will always hate it, but it wasn't too bad this time.  Larry was gonna be late.  Lau made a funny quip about how Larry would come in complaining that he hated when people were late to his classes, even when he himself was late.

Larry came in during the warm up.  Kelly and I had seen him appear in the doorway, and at the exact same moment, we grabbed each others arm, glaring at one another.  The Fro was here ! It was an event in itself to see what their hair would be every night .  He also did exactly what Lau had said he would.  Within a few seconds after saying hi, and waving to everyone, he moaned about how he hated that peeps were late to his classes.  Lau pointed at his brother incredulously, and everyone duly laughed.

Larry stretched out on the floor, taking some time.  Only later did we find out how hurt he was, how much pain he was in.

The workshop started, the music was good, hip hop, hypnotic beat, right up Larry's alley.  The fro was wonderous, dancing around in it's fluffiness.  On day three, I got to touch the royal floof, Larry having no idea, or maybe he did, and just didn't mind.  More on that later.  He also stopped to change the Fro into the Fineapple.  More gasps of delight and the faint thud of girls fainting.

Sorry, everything Larry, but I always sit on his side, being the ever faithful Larry girl that I am, so I'm sorry if I don't mention workshop Lau too much.  Suddenly, Larry stopped.  He appeared to be rubbing his chest.  It took a minute.  He was squinting, still rubbing his chest, like he had bad heartburn.

"Sorry guys, I just gotta ... "  he left in a hurry.  More on that too.  He eventually came back, and carried on.  His choreo, as usual was great, as was Lau's.  I'm sure there are plenty of videos to reiterate this always normal fact, their choreo's are always amazing, but especially when you see the build up, of how they put these masterpieces together, and end up with what they do.  It's still an almost unbelievable thing to watch, even after 12 workshops.
