My Heart

The unknown

on a cold winter day rose found herself on the floor unable to move stuck in her own body with her heart running a million miles per hour. Scared she started to cry and scream yet not.

"Help me, please" she screamed in her head hoping someone would hear.

eventually, she got up and ran to her father to tell him what had happened, but she stopped herself because she knew her father would not understand. Slowly she walked to her room and lay in bed scared and confused

"What is happening to me," she said as she fell asleep.

Rose was a smoker; she didn't know that the more she smoked, the more harm she caused her body. Sadly, she already planned to meet with friends the next day.

The next morning, she saw an opportunity to speak with her father and she took it

" Hey, dad I wanted to ask you something that has been bothering me a lot." said rose.

"Not now I have a lot of work to do maybe another day," said rose's dad.

rose decided to just leave to hang out with her friends but she did not expect her friends to bring other drugs to try she was already against other drugs, and she only smoked because it helped her anxiety. After smoking and lounging around her friends took out pills...

"Look I got these yesterday and they are supposed to be an anxiety medication, but it can get you high you should try it," said Anthony.

" I don't know I don't like to do that kind of stuff you never know what they put in that stuff," said Rose.

"Dude just tries it don't be a pussy," said Anthony.

after some thought rose thought to herself " what's the worst that could happen?

"You know what let's do it," said Rose.

Anthony gave her two pills and she proceeded to drink them. all her friends cheered and laughed but after some time rose started feeling weak and lightheaded. the room started spinning and she could feel her heart in the palm of her hands.

"Guys I think I need to go to the hospital," said rose holding her chest as she tries to walk to the door.

Anthony said laughing "just relax you'll be fine.

she was not fine rose did not know that in those upcoming seconds her heart would stop, and her life would be in the hand of those so-called friends who put her there.

Her friends called emergency services and they brought her back and rushed her to the hospital where she would spend two weeks in a medically induced coma.

Two weeks later...

Rose wakes up to find her father speaking with the doctors and all she can think is how much trouble she was going to be in looking around the room she realized she was connected to more machines than she could count and could not move at all without everything hurting.

Roses father walks in the room...

"What is wrong with you I did not raise you to be a drug addict look at you are you proud of where you are in life you are so useless; I can't believe you"

rose chose not to speak and just looked at him as a tear fell from her face.

A handful of doctors came in the room to tell rose her heart had stopped and they had no idea why all her test looked amazing she looked healthy, but she was not. no one could explain what happened. her father blamed her for everything that happened and for wasting his time going to the hospital since he had better to do.

Rose was able to go home but she sadly could not escape the constant judgement that was going to come from her father and her friends not to mention she was scared about even sleeping.
