"Hello! Welcome to Hart and Soul! What can I get you?"
Matt skimmed over the menu, carefully weighing each option. There was so much to choose from. The customers behind Matt started to get frustrated and the cashier let out a small cough.
Matt blinked.
"Um yes, I'd like the..." he quickly looked back at the menu and chose the first item, "Buttery toast."
Purchased item in hand, Matt looked around. Most of the seats in the coffee shop were already occupied, but his friends had taken over a large couch in the back. He quickly walked over and sat down.
Matt looked down at his toast. It looked pretty gross. The bread was weird and stiff and it was absolutely covered in butter. He lifted it up to try and eat it, but all the butter slid off the bread and into his mouth.
Matt's initial reaction was to gag, but the butter was salty and pleasantly sticky, coating every inch of his mouth with its warmth. He tried to swallow it but couldn't. It was too good. He held it in his mouth, trying to savor the taste of the butter.
Sophie, one of his friends, looked over and smirked. She was a smoking hot brunette with perfect eyeliner and a kickass nose piercing. "Matt," she laughed, "You've got a little something on your face."
Matt's face got all red. He was so focused on the butter that he had kind of forgotten he was in public. "Yeah. Thanks," Matt said quickly, getting up and running to the bathroom.
Upon entering the bathroom, Matt froze. There was a mirror right in front of him and he could see his face. The butter was shockingly white. He could see the spots of butter across his chin, the sheen of it over his lips. He gasped, and more butter came oozing out of his mouth, slow and thick. His eyes rolled back in his head a bit. All he could think of was the last time something white and thick had dropped from his lips. A thousand memories flew through his mind, a thousand nights and a thousand places, but only one green frog.
"Pepe," Matt moaned. His eyes snapped shut and he fell to the ground.
