Little Jaeyun was playing on his phone, when he noticed a kid sitting alone in the couch of their house. Im which, he quickly realized that it was the son of Mrs. Park, his mother's best best friend.

Jaeyun stood up with his phone in his hands, walking to the lonely looking boy who was looking down, staring into nowhere.

"Hi" Jaeyun waved at him and smiled sweetly. The boy looked up at him, fixing his hair by putting his bangs to the sides of his forehead as he couldn't see properly. He smiled slightly, waving at him shyly. Jaeyun put his hand out.

"I'm Jaeyun! But you can call me Jake." Jaeyun offered his hand for the little boy to shake. "H-hi, I'm Sunghoon...." the boy, who's name is Sunghoon, stuttered as he was shy, because he's never really talked much with other kids as he is busy with his ice skating hobby.

"Are you Auntie Jiwoo's son??" Jaeyun's face lightened up as he put down his phone at sat down next to Sunghoon. Sunghoon smiled and nodded. "Ohh! Let's be friends, Sunghoon!" Jaeyun smiled, making his eyes smile with him too. Sunghoon smiled back, "sure." He agreed.

They both talk, chatter and chatter while smiling at each other. Sunghoon slowly got comfortable with Jaeyun as his new friend. Their mothers, who were in the living room, also chatteting. Noticed them, they both looked at each other and smiled as their sons are becoming friends. "That's cute.." Mrs. Sim giggled.

(time skip; a few years later)
(jakehoon are 9 year olds)

It's been already a few years which have passed and Sunghoon and Jaeyun are still more closer than ever. Jaeyun would sometimes go with Sunghoon as he practices ice skating.

Sadly, Both their mothers announced that Jaeyun and his parents will be going to Australia. Which was really a bummer for Jaeyun and Sunghoon as that day of Jaeyun going out of Korea will be today. So their parents let them hang out for as long as they'd like the whole day since Jaeyun is leaving at midnight.

They are both now at the ice skating rink, while giggles and laughs filled the skating rink. "w-wait! I'm gonna fall!" Jaeyun held onto Sunghoon's hand tightly which made the younger laugh loudly. "You won't! Don't worry, I'm here!" Sunghoon held both of his hands while slowly sliding to the middle of the rink.

"I'm gonna let go, okay?"

"No you're not!!"

"You won't fall, don't worry!"

Sunghoon slowly let go of Jaeyun while the older shakes a bit making Sunghoon laugh. Their hands were fully apart and Jaeyun froze on his spot, scared to move because he doesn't want to fall. "Oh wait! I got it!" Jaeyun smiled while keeping his balance properly.

"Yay! You got it!" Sunghoon jumped in excitement, being so good at keeping his balance that he didn't fall when he landed his jump. Sunghoon ran to hug Jaeyun, now that made Jaeyun lose balance. They both fell to the ice ground, both giggling at each other's embrace. Sunghoon helped him get up, While Jaeyun attempts to keep his balance again, they both skate to the side to take a seat.

Sunghoon handed Jaeyun a bottle of water which the older gladly accepted. Sunghoon checked the time by his watch and saw that it was already almost midnight. He sighed. "Jake?" he called out. "hm?"

Sunghoon's hand, slowly reached for Jaeyun's hand which made the older a little confused. "I'll miss you." he stammered, looking at Jaeyun in the eyes. Jaeyun smiled, "i'm gonna miss you too, a lot."

"can I tell you something?" Sunghoon hesitated to say, but Jaeyun just nodded his head. "go on." Jaeyun giggled as Sunghoon looked so nervous.

"I like you, Jake."

Those words that came out of Sunghoon's mouth, made Jaeyun speechless while blushing a little bit. Sunghoon felt a little bit hurt at the thought of the older not liking him back. Jaeyun laughed, while slowly lowering down his voice.

"I like you too, hoonie."

Jaeyun smiled, looking down while his cheeks tinted a shade of rose pink. Sunghoon was speechless, but he was blushing furiously.

"Thank you for being my friend, Sunghoon. I appreciate you a lot and all of the things you've done to me. I'll miss you a lot, but I'll come back soon here in Korea when I finish my studies. I promise."

"promise?"

Jaeyun held Sunghoon's hand.

"promise."

Sunghoon couldn't contain himself and went in to pull Jaeyun into a hug, a tight hug. Tears started to form in Sunghoon's eyes, tightening their hug as much as they both wanted to.

They both pulled out, Sunghoon burst into tears, "such a baby" Jaeyun cooed while hugging Sunghoon once again, Sunghoon wiped his tears away, cupping Jaeyun's face while smiling at him lovingly. Jaeyun placed his hands on Sunghoon's hands which were on his cheeks. Jaeyun kissed Sunghoon's cheek, making the younger blush furiously.

Sunghoon smiled and kissed Jake's cheek also, Both of them smiling like idiots while the light of the moon reflecting to them through the glass roof. "I-I.... love you, Jake.." Sunghoon stuttered and blushed, looking down shyly. "aren't we a bit too young to say that?" Jake laughed, "I-I know, it's j-just, i'm just being honest you know?" Sunghoon awkwardly laughed. Making Jake also laugh. "I love you too Hoonie."

They were now in the airport.

Sunghoon kept annoying his mom that he wants to go with Jake to the airport so he can give his final goodbyes to him, and he managed to go there with his friends. "Goodbye, dear!" Mrs. Sim and Mrs. Park were both busy hugging, bidding their goodbyes to each other. They both finally pulled out and went to both their sons.

Sunghoon broke down in tears and ran to Jake's embrace, engulfing him in a tight hug which he never wanted to let go of. Enjoying their moment of their last hug, they both broke down into tears which made both of their mothers also sad too.

"Promise me you'll come back okay?"

"I promise, hoonie." Jake giggled and cupped Sunghoon's face, Sunghoon took out something from his pocket. It was a small case, he opened the case, revealing two matching bracelets which had pink tulips as the design, and it also has a split heart, which were magnetic.

Jake smiled as Sunghoon put the bracelet on Jake's wrist, while Jake helped Sunghoon put the bracelet on. They both looked at each other and smiled, Jake looked back to see his mom smiling, waiting for him.

"Goodbye, hoonie."

Jake smiled with tears in his eyes before turning around and running to his mom, Sunghoon also ran to his mom and cried in her arms.

Suddenly.

Jake ran back to Sunghoon, he cupped his face before placing a soft kiss on his forehead, nose, and both cheeks. Making Sunghoon smile, Sunghoon wanted to return it, so he did the same to Jake too. They both stopped themselves from kissing on the lips because they both know that they're still too young for that. Maybe soon, when they meet as adults.

The speaker announced that the plane that Jake and his mom were riding was boarding in a few minutes. Their mothers bid their goodbyes as Jake and Sunghoon did too.

Sunghoon promises that he'll wait for Jake, until he comes back.

But, will he come back?
