"Lily. My little girl. Now you're all grown up." Lily's mom looked at her with a warm look in her eyes. "Mom!" Lily exclaimed. She couldn't believe it, here was her mother, alive and well. "I thought you died oh my gosh I can't believe you're really here." She said excitedly. "Oh Lily..." Her mother's expression grew sad. "You were always such a powerful girl." Lily's mother trailed off. All of a sudden a loud bang sounded, and a blossom of red appeared on her mother's stomach. "No! nonono this is not happening again, I am not letting you die again!" Lily's voice shook. But before she could move, another loud bang rang out and more red blossomed from her mother's chest. Lily screamed and jerked up, the image of her mother still burned in her memory. "Whoa are you ok Lily?" Dylan was standing above her. Lily looked around, for a minute she was in an unfamiliar room, in someone else's bed, and then she remembered where she was. "Um yeah, just had a falling dream." She replied, lying about her dream. "Oh. Well it was just a dream." Dylan shrugged. "Anyways I'm going to go out on some important business today. I am just leaving, will you be ok by yourself?" He asked her. "Yeah I'll be fine." Lily replied. And she would, at least she would pretend to be, for the sake of keeping up her tough girl act. "All right Lily." Dylan looked at her. "My Little Flower" He added with a mischievous smile. "Oh god don't tell me you're gonna start calling me lame nicknames." Lily groaned, but rolled her eyes with a smile. Dylan's response was just to laugh and wave at her as he left the room and disappeared out of the small house. For Lily it had only been a couple days since Dylan had found her, but it felt like longer. She was starting to get to know him better. He was still as charming as ever, and he had already taken to calling Lily all sort's of pet names. It was cute though, and she couldn't lie to herself, she rather enjoyed his attention and his companionship. Lily smiled to herself as she got up and started her day, she couldn't get Dylan out of her mind, he was just so perfect. As she herself headed out, the warm sun soaked into her skin and left her feeling refreshed. It was a new day, another day to go out and explore. For a fleeting moment Lily thought about Tail Gunner and the possibility of looking for him. She had long since given up and finding him. But sometimes, the thought of him lurked in the back of her mind. Sometimes she thought about him and a small flame of hope flickered within her, but she always tried to squash it down. Lily had never found him before, let alone any small of trace of him, so why should she continue to dwell on it? She had already figured, especially after all this time, that it was a lost cause. Lily decided that her first course of action would be to walk towards Starbucks, and hopefully not go in. She had recently become very addicted to the flavor of caramel coffee and butter croissants. Although she liked to pretend that it was just a developing habit that she could stop at any time. As Lily was nearing the same Starbucks she had been at just a few days ago she happened to catch a glimpse of the same man that had run into her previously. She narrowed her eyes in suspicion, but then thought maybe it was just a coincidence that she was seeing him again in the same spot. "Maybe I should wait out here and follow him, seems like an interesting person to track." Lily mumbled to herself. Just as she was inching up to the window to sneak a look inside, a low "Grrf" sounded from just below her. Lily look down to see a dark furred dog, she assumed a German Shepard looking back at her. "Shhh be quiet, can't you see I'm trying to do something here." She hissed. Lily looked back up into the window, but the man was already walking towards the door. To make herself seem less suspicious Lily pretended to have been already looking at the dog. "Aww you are just the cutest puppy ever!" She said in a baby voice to the dog. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. The man she had been watching now stood right in front of her. "I'm not doing anything mister "likes to body slam into girls". Beside I bet he isn't even your dog." Lily frowned. She still had not forgotten the sour encounter she had with him a few days ago, nor had she forgiven him. "One. Brutus is not only my dog, but my wonderful companion as well." The man said as he unraveled the leash that connected the dog, Brutus, to a bike stand. "And two. I did not "body slam" into you. YOU bumped into ME." He said, correcting her with a smile. For some reason this irked Lily, and also confused her. Whenever she would challenge people, their minds were weak enough to make them think they were inferior, thus intimidating them. That's how her power worked, or at least it should. But on this particular person no matter how hard she pushed her power, his mind did not seem to waver. "Whatever" She said, rolling her eyes, but inside she decided to brush it off. "But Brutus is very handsome." She added with a small smile. "Yes he is." the man agreed, also smiling. "By the way little miss. What was that little fire trick you did with your hand the other day?" He asked, tilting his head in curiosity. "What fire?" Lily pretended to not know what he was talking about. "Oh well I could have sworn I saw you spontaneously conjure fire from your hand." He pushed back at her. Lily continued to feign innocence and shook her head. "Hmm well maybe it was just a trick of the light." The man shrugged. but Lily could tell he was lying and that he didn't believe her. "I guess so." She ignored it and shrugged. "Well anyways, Brutus and I have to go now, but I hope you have a wonderful day little miss." The man nodded in farewell and he and Brutus turned to leave. As Lily watched them leave she couldn't help but noticed a logo of a scorpion, and a motorcycle club name on the man's black leather jacket. "Oooh so you're a motorcycle guy" She said to herself with a smile. It was going to be easy to track him now, knowing the exact name and logo of his club. Later during the evening, Lily was freshening up from a shower and drying her hair, when she heard Dylan come back. "Oh you're back too. I hope you had a good day Little Flower." Dylan greeted her with a smile. Lily blushed at the compliment. "I did." She replied. "Would you like to go on a walk tomorrow?" Dylan threw an offer at Lily, and she nodded excitedly. For now though they would resign to separate rooms and sleep. Dylan was a gentleman like that. When he had taken Lily in, he hadn't even so much as laid one finger on her. He would always ask her if she was ok, if she was too hot or too cold, if she needed anything. Lily had never smiled so much with someone, and she hadn't felt this loved in a long time. With Dylan still on her mind Lily drifted into a peaceful sleep.
