(Aurora's POV)

I woke up again to the sound of pots and pans banging. It was typical to wake-up with this sound. My mom loves cooking and she takes every meal of the day very serious. Out stretching my muscles, I should probably start getting ready for school. I walk to the mirror and stare at the girl in front of me.

There isn't anything special about me. I have a heart-shaped face with jet black straight hair that is right above my waist. I have light blue and forest green eyes that make my facial features look more defined. My plump rosy pink lips were always a little moist.

The only thing that I truly love about myself is birthmarks. Right below my ear I have a reddish birthmark that is shaped like a crown and on my waist there is a darker one that is shaped like scepter. I find it really weird that no one in my family has the same birth mark but my parents always say im special.

Walking over to my closet I get a pair of jeans and a purple top to go with it. I grab my black vans to match with my outfit. I believe that every girl should stop wearing makeup but I guess some are insecure on their looks. I brush my hair and put it up in a high ponytail. Grabbing my backpack, I rush to the kitchen before I get scolded in taking forever to get ready.

"Morning mom" I say and kiss her cheek. My dad always goes to work really early so im only able to see him in the afternoon sometimes.

"Good morning sweetie I made eggs and bacon" she glances at her watch to check the time," oh dear it's so late I'll see you later honey... oh I almost forgot I made you a smoothie it's in the refrigerator" she yells as she walks out the door.

"Thanks mom, bye!" I yell back. My parents are always focused in their work. I don't mind but sometimes I wish they would spend a little more time with me. Finishing my eggs I walk over to the living room and glance at the clock "shit" I mutter. I'm late for school already, this is the third time it happens this week. Thankfully I have straight A's so my teachers don't mind sometimes.

Locking the house and walking to the bus stop I realize I have no idea what I am going to do with my life. Sure I can always go to college but I don't like school. I don't want to disappoint my parents. Ugh sometimes I just want to throw all my worries away and focus on one thing but my brain refuses to do that.

The bus finally arrives and I hop in, sitting in the front seat I plug in my headphones and start listening to Chains by Nick Jonas. The bus finally comes to a stop and I walk into the school. Since im already late I take my time walking to my first period. I probably took more time than I should have because walking into class Mr. Hoberts is telling us the homework already. He always does that at the end of the class.
