"It's... "

Secretkeeper, half cloaked in shadow, was quite sure that her eyes were not deceiving her as Stonemover of the NightWings walked side by side with Farsight at the other end of the hall, looking awfully too happy for his own good.

"Can't find the right word? My, my." Morrowseer clucked. "I thought that you always had something to say about any recent developments in Farsight's life."

"I can't believe it," Secretkeeper muttered, ignoring what her husband had said, for Stonemover had just worked up the courage to rest his wing over Farsight's shoulder, and she didn't shrug him off. "He's getting awfully forward. Do you see how he acts around her?"

"I have perfectly functional eyes, wife." Morrowseer paused. "He acts like a puppy. Farsight ought to tell him to heel if that's the case."

"Hm," Secretkeeper said, though there was a rather inexperienced, nervous air to how Stonemover conducted himself. Perhaps it was true that it was his first time around the block, so to speak. "Is that- are they? Oh my," she said.

Oh my indeed, for it looked as if they had stopped for a moment, and Stonemover had taken Farsight's talon in his, his eyes only focused on her face. As torchlight flickered, he was seemingly on the verge of leaning in and closing the distance between them. Secretkeeper held her breath, gripping onto her husband's arm. Morrowseer calmly removed her claws from his person.

"It would be good if he courted her, you know," said her husband. "He'd hardly catch anyone else with how low his prospects are. She's wasting her intellect by taking that, but your best friend is sadly too fluff-hearted to notice."

"Tsst!" Secretkeeper gave Morrowseer a look, not forgetting what he had just said, but saving it for later. For that was the moment when Farsight placed her talons on Stonemover's shoulders, something in her eyes that Secretkeeper hadn't seen in so long, a mixture of desire and hope, and...

And turned her head, locking eyes with Secretkeeper, who had been witnessing the entire thing. Stonemover turned his head to see whatever Farsight had been looking at, and promptly looked like a doe. Morrowseer snorted. Secretkeeper pinched him.

Unfortunately, it was too late. Farsight stepped back and tapped Stonemover's cheek with her snout in the most friendly, chaste way, before hastening off and not sparing a glance at any of them.

"Blast it," said Secretkeeper.
